The traditional beach holiday is on the decline. Vacations you can brag to friends about are the latest trend. The majority (46%) of Dutch young people (20-30 years old) explicitly book their holiday based on the extent to which they can brag about it to others. This is according to research by Budget. Dutch youngsters turn out to be real adventurers. No less than 35% of the respondents indicate that they get behind the wheel to avoid the beaten track and gain a unique experience.
It may come as no surprise that the majority (57%) of young people between the ages of 20 and 30 admit to regularly checking online and social media reviews when choosing a holiday destination. The research also shows that the love for taking selfies is unabated – more than a third (35%) of young people (20-30 years) take selfies during the holidays in front of a large crowd or with a beautiful background.
