On Saturday 28 January 2017, the Rotterdam Chinese New Year will be celebrated in a big way. Most of the festivities take place on the West-Kruiskade, but the Wijkpark Oude Westen is also dominated by De Haan. The Chinese New Year is not only celebrated in Rotterdam, because in The Hague they celebrate the Chinese New Year Festival. There is a parade through the center of the Hofstad with dragons, lions and fireworks beforehand. The International Film Festival Rotterdam IFFR will take place from Wednesday 25 January to Sunday 5 February 2017.
