Rijswijk will be dominated by the Dutch Model Railway Days on Saturday 13 January and Sunday 14 January 2018. From 11 November 2017 to Sunday 14 January 2018, Scheveningen will be dominated by the Cool Event. Visitors can enjoy themselves on the 600m2 skating rink at Kurhausplein, there is an Ice Expo and a 30-meter long ice roller coaster from the pier. The Amsterdam Light Festival will be organized from November 30, 2017 to Sunday, January 21, 2018. The cultural winter event ensures that the city center of Amsterdam is transformed into an open-light museum. The various light artworks can be admired from both land and water.

From January to May 2018, a 1.5-hour walk is organized every Saturday evening along 19 illuminated artworks of Trajectum Lumen. The guide explains the background of the different images and can answer questions from participants.

On Saturday, January 13 and Sunday, January 14, 2018, the Kartbeurs Nederland will be organized in Lelystad. The place to be for kart and motorsport enthusiasts. Two halls full of exhibitors, motorsport associations and of course also kart circuits and real kart drivers. This is also the opening of the new kart season and the Dutch kart champions will be honored during this event.

The Stallion Inspection will take place in Leeuwarden from Thursday 11 January to Saturday 13 January 2018. On Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 January 2018, bargain enthusiasts can indulge themselves again during the sniffing market in the Gelredome. With over 500 stalls, there is a wide variety of second-hand items, including toys, books, clothing and much more. This time not outside in the Decathlon car park, but inside the Gelredome, so a nice outing in bad weather.

The last of my weekend tips:visit the InterClassics in Maastricht from Thursday 11 January to Sunday 14 January 2018. It is the 25th time that the old-timer fair takes place and during this anniversary edition the highlights of recent years are shown. In recent years, 18 themes have been associated with the fair and these will be brought back during this fair. Young and old can admire the most exclusive old-timers.
