The WOWpark Denmark, a super fun nature playground!

Today we visited the WOWpark Denmark. Playing the old-fashioned way between the treetops in an old farmyard, what should (or may) you imagine? I'm going to tell you what you can experience in the WOWpark in Denmark.

WOWpark Denmark

The WOWpark is located in  Skjern, near the Ringkøbing Fjord. A half hour drive from our Landal Seawest park. So doable if you stay in the North-West part of Denmark.

The park is an old farm with a huge nature playground behind it. The nature playground is partly located on an open plain, but the majority of the WOWpark is located in the beautiful forest. You can spend a few hours here (with smaller children easily even a whole day) without getting bored.

What is so beautiful about this forest… whether it is very warm, or not so warm but maybe even a little drizzly weather… in both cases you have excellent protection against the weather influences. In extremely hot weather you will find cooling under the canopy, but they also block the rain to a large extent.

We were here on a cloudy day where the temperature was excellent. Admittedly... that's the best weather you could wish for for a day at WOWpark.

What can you do in the WOWpark?

Playhouses and nets in the treetops

Our children are the first to run towards the nets hanging between the treetops. The nets connect a number of playhouses in the treetops. You can climb from house to house via these footbridges and then whiz down on a slide made of nets and sails.

Nets with huge balls in them

Further on you will find nets stretched between the trees that serve as a kind of trampoline. Adults and children can walk, jump, run and go wild with all the balls that can be found within these nets. Balls in 'football' format, but also huge balls that you can push and throw yourself at. Too nice! And very tiring I can tell you.

Have fun swinging with cable cars

In addition to these nets, you will of course also find cable cars in the WOWpark. Swinging from one tree to another tree, as if you were a monkey. Or do balance exercises on the band that is stretched low above the ground between the trees. Surprisingly difficult to walk more than one step on that belt without being helped.

The Troll's Cave

Do you have adventurous children? Then the troll den is for them. Underground through large pipes in the dark to see if the trolls are there. This is one for the daredevils though, I can't get mine in there.

Hammocks to relax

Tired of all that scrambling? Then it is best to hang out in one of the many wide hammocks to relax. This way you'll have enough energy to blast into the maze in no time. See if you can figure it out yourself.

Family swing and tree course

Furthermore, in the forest you will find a whole course of trees that you can climb over and compete to see who can get the furthest, without touching the ground. Fortunately, after that it's all about working together on the family swing. All make the same movement - at the same time - to go back and forth as hard as possible.

Animal park and water mattress

Besides the fact that there is a lot of climbing and clambering fun, there is also an animal park where you can pet sweet goats and close to that animal park you will also find a water mattress that you can jump on.

Play soccer billiards

Our children also loved doing this. You get the balls for the football billiards and you get them in exchange for a deposit. Guarantees to have fun for at least half an hour.

Eating and drinking in the WOWpark Denmark

You can and may just bring your own food and drinks if you want. But there is also an opportunity to get something there, such as a small piece of pizza, ecological drinks, delicious cappuccino and water.

The restaurant is located inside, but you can also take your food and drinks outside. In the open part of the WOWpark Denmark there are many large (wooden) tables and benches for a nice picnic.

What's even more fun is that there are campfires where you can bake sausages and pop popcorn. A great end to your day if you wish. Incidentally, you should not be unlucky that you have had just such a summer as this year, because open fires are currently prohibited… you can get the sausages and popcorn now.

Other information about the WOWpark

Who is the WOWpark Denmark suitable for?

The park is suitable for young and old (from 2 years), although the limit is approximately 13-14 years when it comes to actively participating in the activities you can do. As a parent, you will probably first walk with your children and then settle in with a book while your children are having fun.
