A good hour drive. Back and forth. And all this to see Angry Birds 2 in the Pathé cinema in Amsterdam, at the Arena. Ridiculous really, but it was one of our few outings during the summer holidays and the kids were looking forward to it. So the four of us drove to Amsterdam at 09.00 in the morning. Cozy, looking forward to the movie and watching monkeys, because part of the voice cast would be present. If you want to know if Angry Birds 2 is worth it, read my review below!

In 2016 we watched Angry Birds 1 and after seeing this hilarious movie in theaters we couldn't wait to see part 2. Birds and piglets fight to protect their island. With recognizable situations and scenes, the Angry Birds film is actually a kind of parody of human life, isn't it?
Where in part 1 the birds and the piglets compete against each other, in Angry Birds 2 we have a completely new 'enemy' in the picture. Mighty Eagle's old lover (voiced by Soundos El Ahmadi) has decided to attack both the piglets and the Angry Birds from the icy Eagle Island.
At the mercy of each other, the moody birds and mean green piglets decide to team up to defeat the common enemy. Red, Chuck, Bomb and Mighty Eagle persuade Chuck's smart sister Silver to team up with the piglets Leonard, his assistant Courtney, and his tech Garry.
So the start of the day at the premiere of Angry Birds 2 is early for us. But once we have arrived in Amsterdam, it turns out that we are certainly not the first to attend the premiere of this new cinema film. Part of the voice cast is present and for that reason alone Lotte and her girlfriend wanted to go to Angry birds 2. Because none other than Enzo Knol is there, but also Bibi and Saar (one of the Sweet sisters) come on stage. And they don't want to miss it, of course.
She doesn't really care that I've promised to write a review about Angry Birds 2. Yes mom, nice, but we would like a picture and an autograph from Enzo. It's a pity, but unfortunately, the line is too long and I would like to go inside to not end up at the very back of the cinema. Anyway, after the introduction round on stage, and the beautiful song by Do, we can enter the hall.
Full of anticipation we sit with 3D glasses on in the morning with a bag of popcorn on our lap ready to review Angry Birds 2. Let me go into that first… those 3D glasses should be left out of me. I hardly ever felt like I was watching a 3D movie and never once did I think Angry Birds or green piglets were being catapulted into the room. Watching this film in 2D is therefore fine.
The film is suitable for the whole family. Despite the fact that I didn't roar with laughter, I was able to enjoy this second Angry Birds movie. There are jokes in it for adults that make the film extra attractive and of course the film is already full of humor for children.
The storyline with the baby piglets and baby birds is of added value. Not only because the baby Angry Birds are voiced by Bibi and Saar, among others, but they are a funny addition to the whole.

All in all, I like the movie enough to watch with the family. Don't expect a sore jaw afterwards, but just a nice piece of entertainment, even for the adolescent in our family.
Before the film, there was no room for us to approach the voice cast, but afterwards the girls were lucky. Luc saw Enzo Knol walking towards the parking garage and the girls rushed towards it with my phone and a piece of paper. This way they were able to shoot a nice selfie with Enzo and a signature on paper. I will never grumble at you again Enzo Knol, very cool that you took the time for them!
