We all remember the home of Hagrid, the half-giant responsible for entrances and exits at Hogwarts school in the Harry Potter saga. The place, a cabin on the edge of the forest, is indeed at the heart of several plots. Good news:we can now spend the night there! Head to England (of course!) to discover this faithful reproduction of the hut where Harry so often visits the gentle giant. It is in the heart of the North York Moors National Park, in the northern county of Yorkshire, that the famous building is located.
There are, however, some differences between fiction and reality. The replica of the hut was built of stone and not of wood, contrary to the description in the books. Moreover, no forbidden forest populated by giant spiders on the horizon (phew!), only the majestic landscapes of the moors which stretch as far as the eye can see. An ideal spot to relax in peace!
Raw and primary in appearance, Hagrid's hut turns out to be a real little gem:it's once inside that the magic happens! We discover a cozy atmosphere that makes you want to curl up in blankets while immersing yourself in the novels of the saga. Divided into three circular rooms, the house includes a bedroom, a bathroom and a living room which also serves as a kitchen. It also houses a superb stone fireplace in which you can simmer good meals or roast marshmallows in winter.
This little corner of paradise can accommodate up to 6 people, ideal for going on a road trip with friends in the footsteps of Harry, Ron and Hermione. We can thank the owner, Carol Cavendish, for the construction and decoration of this fabulous home. Suffering from dyslexia, this undisputed fan of the famous wizard, took a liking to reading thanks to the work of J.K. Rowling. Her passion led her to spend no less than 225,000 euros to carry out this project and immerse travelers in the world of wizards.
A successful bet since every detail, from the inkwells to the lanterns, has been cleverly thought out to evoke the fantastic atmosphere of Hogwarts! For a night in the Harry Potter universe, you will have to pay 225 € (which seems quite reasonable if you are going with friends)!
We ride our broomsticks towards Hagrid's hut, our next destination for the holidays, finally when we can leave France.
