Low cost airlines such as Easyjet, Wow and Ryanair offer customers budget-friendly prices. There is, however, a caveat. Those low rates are for limited travel dates, minimal extras and extra service costs. Even though budget airlines can save you money, make sure you don't fall for any of the extra charges. Follow these money-saving hacks before booking your next flight.
Don't pick your seat
Premium seats come at a premium price. If you want to keep your ticket at a low price, you'll need to omit perks like extra legroom and sitting next to your travel companion. Also be aware that budget airlines will try to trick you into choosing a seat. Simply locate the 'Next' or 'Skip' buttons to avoid this option.
Don't pay excess baggage fees Budget airlines are strict with their baggage allowances. Be sure to find the required dimensions for your luggage (on their website). If you're traveling with a friend or family member, consider packing just one piece of luggage for the two of you. Dividing the cost of one piece of luggage is considerably less than paying for your own luggage.
Don't forget that you can bring a free personal item; the measurement varies and is provided by airlines, but is usually the size of a small backpack. Consider packing light and using this as your only bag.
Bring your own snacks
There are people who prefer to fly with an airline that offers free drinks. Other people would rather pay less and just bring their own snacks. Go to the supermarket and buy some snacks. Remember that you are not allowed to bring large bottles of liquid with you to security, so buy a bottle of water as soon as you get to the gate.
