About 43% of women between the ages of 18 and 40 do not consider a babymoon (read:the last holiday with their partner during pregnancy) romantic at all. This is apparent from a survey by D-reizen that was recently conducted among 385 Dutch people.
You would almost expect a babymoon to be experienced as a romantic holiday. But in practice this often turns out not to be the case. A quarter of women between the ages of 18 and 40 find a holiday more romantic if they are not pregnant and also feel more comfortable in their own skin. For 18% of this group of women, a babymoon is even the last thing they need. The most frequently mentioned reasons for this are, among other things, because of a big stomach or swollen ankles. For 100% romance while traveling, D-reizen therefore recommends an extra holiday before the pregnancy, instead of during.
Pregnancy Bucket List
Despite the fact that a large part of the women do not find a babymoon romantic, this trip is still super popular. The babymoon is number 2 on the bucket list of pregnant women between the ages of 18 and 40. Half of the women between the ages of 18 and 40 are considering making such a trip.
Babymoon should not cost too much Despite the fact that the babymoon is popular, it should certainly not cost too much. About 73% of women between the ages of 18 and 40 do not want to spend too much on such a holiday. About 27% indicate that they certainly do not want to pay more than on an average other holiday.
