100 years Woudagemaal UNESCO World Heritage
The oldest steam pumping station in the world still plays a crucial role in Frisian water management. At high water, this pumping station ensures that the Frisians keep their feet dry. HT Rowboat Race
Friday 22 May the 46th edition of the spectacular HT rowing boat race will take place. During this very tough race, approximately 140 sloops row from Harlingen to Terschelling. 75 years Skûtsjesilen, Frisian Maritime Museum
Whoever says Friesland says Skûtsjesilen. The SKS (Sintrale Kommisje Skûtsjesilen), organizer of these tough sailing competitions, is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. The Fries Scheepvaart Museum in Sneek shows the world of the Skûtsjesilers in a unique exhibition. The championships will take place in the second half of July.

Wadopera, the story of fisherman Peter Grimes
An opera spectacle with the Wadden Sea Unesco World Heritage as background. More than 180 players, singers and musicians take you to England at the beginning of the 19th century.
