Austin Simms is the manager of a cafe in the state of Virginia , in the USA.
And apparently some of his clients aren't very familiar with good manners...
You know those simple little things like:hello, please, thank you.
So he found a simple and effective trick to help his customers be more friendly on a daily basis.
Now in his restaurant, the ruder you are, the more you pay for your coffee !
Look at his sign posted outside the cafe:
Indeed, on the outdoor menu of the restaurant, we can read:
- "A coffee":$5
- "A coffee, please":$3
- "Hello, a coffee, please":$1.75
As you can see, the more polite you are, the less you pay for your coffee!
It's true that even if we are in a hurry in the morning when we order a coffee, we must not forget that the person serving us is also a human being!
Yes, there is no reason to be unpleasant! And this price card is a firm reminder.
"I decided to do this because I was fed up with rude customers who didn't take at least a few seconds to say 'hi,'" Simms explains.
One thing is certain, at Cups, service always comes with a smile!
