The lion Will spent the last 13 years of his life locked in a brazilian circus.
Circuses with wild animals are prohibited in Brazil.
Unfortunately many animals continue to be abused and exploited in these cruel attractions.
Will was one of them. He lived for years locked in a cramped and fetid cage.
Fortunately, after more than a decade of suffering, Will was saved by the Rancho do Gnomos association.
In this video, Will walks on grass for the first time in years. Watch:
Rancho do Gnomos, is an organization that takes care of domestic, wild and exotic animals that have been abused or neglected.
Most of the animals in this sanctuary have been deprived of their freedom for a long period of their lives.
The staff of the association was therefore very well prepared to help this lion adapt to his newly acquired freedom.
We see in the video that Will has understood that he will no longer have to suffer in a very small cage all his life. He now feels at home!
It hurts my heart to think that it took 13 years of suffering to be able to save him.
But it's also a pleasure to see him finally taste freedom :-)
