In the autumn holidays to Ibiza? This is what you can expect

It's been a few years since we visited Ibiza during the autumn holidays. Together with my in-laws we spent a week on this beautiful island. It was fun, but there were also a few moments where we were clearly confronted with the disadvantages of the late season for Ibiza. In the end we had a wonderful holiday, let me be clear about that. But if you want to experience Ibiza to the fullest, it is better not to go during the autumn holidays and choose a moment earlier in the season.

Visit Ibiza during the autumn holidays

If you live in the south of the Netherlands, you can fly to Ibiza via Eindhoven. That is super attractive to us, since we live in Schijndel and Eindhoven is only a 20-minute drive away. A lot nicer than flying via Amsterdam. If you want to park your car there somewhere, it is useful to find out what your preference is. For example, you can park very cheaply if you choose the shuttle option, but you can also park within walking distance.

Ibiza is only a short flight from the Netherlands, so it's ideal to do with your children. They don't have to sit still for long and you'll be enjoying the sun in no time, even during the autumn holidays. We certainly do.

But if you are going for a vibrant Ibiza, then the autumn holiday is not quite appropriate. What we have experienced is that many tents are already closed during the autumn holidays. A lot of hip hotspots had already closed their doors. And if you want to taste the Ibiza atmosphere as you 'know' it from the stories, then that is a shame.

Until when is your hotel open? Check!

We were in the Tropic Garden hotel which is a little further from Ibiza town. No problem, because if you rent a car you can get anywhere in no time. The hotel itself was lovely and our hotel room with a beautiful large balcony had a fantastic view.

The only pity is that this hotel closes immediately after the autumn holidays. So we were in the last week of the season for this hotel. Then it closed until spring. Of course that shouldn't matter, but we could tell from the staff that they had had a busy season. They were clearly ready for rest and were therefore not so enthusiastic anymore. That is a bit different from a sunny holiday in March where tourism is just starting up again and the staff is looking forward to it again.

Tip:If you are going to explore Ibiza during the autumn holiday, it might be smart to sit in an apartment. Do you no longer suffer from the 'last week' effect as we had in the hotel.

More venues close in the autumn holidays in Ibiza

Not only was the hotel in its last week, there were also plenty of clubs that were already closed. During our walks along the coast we have more than once taken these kind of pictures 😉 . An empty terrace. Now I don't necessarily have to sit in the crowd, but a little fun on the terraces during your holiday is nice of course. Of course there are still clubs open during the autumn holidays in Ibiza.

The closer you get to Ibiza town, the more clubs are open. Such as Club Amanté, for example, relaxing on the coast with a formidable view!

And all that within a 2.5 hour flight from the Netherlands. If you can also fly from an airport close to home and park your car within walking distance or choose Valet parking (then you drive to the airport and your car is parked by someone) then you are really within half a day just relax on the sun-drenched island of Ibiza during the autumn holidays.

The weather in Ibiza during the autumn holidays

So you don't have to worry so much about that. True, the blood heat is absent. But if you want to see something of the island, that is only an advantage. We prefer a temperature around 20-25° on our holidays. Explore your holiday destination in your skirt or shorts and also be able to take a dip in the pool. Ideal anyway! And as you can see below, it is still busy enough during the autumn holidays.

So don't worry so much about the fact that the season in Ibiza is almost over during the autumn holidays, you can still enjoy yourself here!
