Last week we were glued to the TV with our family to watch Disney Descendants 1. Wonderful, coming back from the holiday and then hanging out on your own couch with some tasty snacks and drinks on the table and a good movie. Of course because Disney Descendants 2 is coming in a while and we like to go there with the four of us. So prepare yourself 😉 .
Our challenge with the TV at home these days is that we try to find fun movies that are suitable for all of us. Fortunately, Disney always gets away with that 😉 , great from young to old. And then it doesn't even matter if it's a cartoon or a regular movie. Disney is always good and therefore does not lead to a discussion.

You have sweethearts and bad guys in Disneyland. And you have their children . And those kids who star in the Disney Descendants movies, both in part 1 and in Disney Descendants 2. Prince Ben is the son of King Beast and Queen Belle, so a son of the sweethearts. And Prince Ben prepares to enthrone in the magical realm of Auradon.
One of the first changes Ben wants to make is to give the children of the villains of Wandering Island a chance. Just because their parents are villains doesn't mean they are too, right?
This gives Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay the opportunity to show what they choose outside this prison island. The good or the bad. Of course, the parental villains also play a role. They try to force their children to steal the good fairy's wand. Wandering Island can thus be 'opened' so that the villains can also get out of prison again.
However, Mal (daughter of Maleficent) slowly falls in love with Prince Ben and that changes everything! Together with Evie (daughter of the Evil Queen), Carlos (son of Cruella de Vil) and Jay (son of Jafar), she withstands the gaze of all the other inhabitants of Auradon. The other residents are not happy with Prince Ben's approach, they do not trust the children.
How is this all going to end? We now know 😉 .
The music in the film is really fantastic and nice to say the least. For our children (7 and almost 12) all right! The only thing is that the music is just in English, and the film itself in Dutch, which is confusing, but hey… English just sounds a lot better in this hip music 😉 . In any case, I expect that this will also be the case with Disney Descendants 2. The film in Dutch in the cinema, but with songs sung in English.

The Disney channel channel has a special Descendants 'section' where you can find everything from the Descendants. The trailers, the explanation about the characters, the music and so on. Fun for your kids to browse around. In addition, the short Disney Descendants wicked world movies are also very nice. Every time, short videos about the villainous children are shown in cartoon, highly recommended!
Fortunately, you don't necessarily have to watch part 1 to be able to enjoy Disney Descendants part 2 later! Below is the first teaser of part 2. He doesn't let go much yet 😉 but it is clear that new villains and villain kids are coming! Take a good look at who owns the arm at the end of this teaser!

The trailer for Disney Descendants 2 has now been released, below is the English version, a Dutch version is not yet available unfortunately.
For weeks we have been asked when Disney Descendants 2 will premiere in the Netherlands. Finally we got some redeeming information about this from the Walt Disney Company. The press screening of the film will take place on September 13, 19 and 22. The new Disney Descendants 2 will premiere on Disney Channel on October 28.
