My husband and I love to travel. Before we had children, we already visited many places in the world. For example, we traveled through Thailand with a backpack, we visited Indonesia, Brazil, Dubai, America and many other places in the world. Traveling has now changed slightly because of the children, I would like to tell you more about that. And this time in particular about our holiday to Lanzarote with children.

Our passion for travel has never disappeared, quite the contrary. We are now a family of four. We regularly take our 3-year-old daughter and our 2-year-old son with us to visit beautiful places or to make nice trips. I work as a primary school teacher. We regularly use holidays to go out, and I am asked whether that is still possible with young children. Yes, if you think in possibilities and solutions, in my opinion almost anything is possible. And therefore also to Lanzarote with children.
Last year we traveled to Lanzarote with our family in early May. An amazing island with many different landscapes and diversity. Our children went with us. I didn't know whether Lanzarote was that child-friendly. I hadn't read carefully in advance, but the fact that it has a very pleasant climate -especially for children- attracted us.
The island has a very great diversity. You can view volcanoes, visit beautiful beaches, but also find peace and quiet in nature or along the coast. The "moonscapes" created by the volcanic eruptions on the island are impressive. So plenty to do on Lanzarote with children.
I will give you some tips for traveling with children in Lanzarote. First of all, of course, you have to fly with children to get there. We rented a car on site for almost two weeks so that we would have complete freedom during our holiday.
We ourselves stayed in Costa Teguise. From our hotel you could easily and quickly reach the boulevard. There were several (larger) playgrounds where the children could play. I was surprised that they also had a lot of equipment aimed at the really younger children, such as baby swings and low slides and climbing equipment.
If you go to Lanzarote with children, you have to take into account the amount of wind that there is sometimes. It is advisable to also bring something warm for the children (and for yourself). The island is 62 kilometers long and 21 kilometers wide. The location where we were was ideal because from there you can easily drive both south and north. If you are traveling with young children I would also recommend a baby carrier or back carrier. Please note that ergonomic wearing is important here.
If you are going on holiday to Lanzarote with children, it is of course wonderful to relax a bit. But it is also nice to visit some highlights of Lanzarote with the children. We visited a large part of the island by rental car. We almost all went to the highlights of the island.
A number of hotels on Lanzarote are known for being very child-friendly:
