Swimming pools perched on top of buildings have been very trendy for a few years, and the photos of lucky little ones enjoying a bath in the middle of an urban space are multiplying on Instagram. If these places with a breathtaking view make more than one dream, one of them should be the exception, especially for acrophobes… And for good reason, the swimming pool of the Market Square Tower located in Houston, Texas , has a part that exceeds the structure of the building complex, and which is therefore suspended above the void. And so that users can take full advantage of this architectural fantasy, the floor of the basin is made of glass, which makes it possible to observe the activity of the city 43 floors below. We warn you, the images can lift the hearts of the most sensitive people (us, for example…).
The experience, which gives the impression of “swimming in the sky” according to the terms used on the Instagram page of the places, is however reserved for certain privileged people. Indeed, only the residents of the luxurious apartments of the tower and the friends they suit can take a dip in this unusual swimming pool. We discard the idea of bribing these residents (who, let's be clear, must not really be in need), and we fall back on other "attractions" to experience the thrill, such as the restaurant suspended at 250 meters from the ground in Mexico or the glass chambers arranged along a cliff. As far as we are concerned, we will rather continue to take advantage of public places which are on solid ground, where we are sure not to be suddenly seized with a panic attack...
