Visiting the 7 continents is the goal of a lifetime, and yet a cruise company offers to meet the challenge in just 140 days, or in less than 5 months. Silversea's World Cruise is a one-of-a-kind sea voyage that will travel to 32 countries across the globe, with stops at 62 ports. The ship that will achieve the feat, the Silver Whisper, will set sail from the city of Fort Lauderdale in Florida on January 6, 2020. The approximately 700 people on board (382 tourists and 302 crew members) will have the chance to cross first the Caribbean Sea with planned stops in Puerto Rico and Barbados, before setting sail for South America where they can visit Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. The day of February 5 (15 days after departure) will be marked by the exploration of the Antarctic Peninsula (the dream!), then a return to the north is planned to discover the Chilean coast.
The next step will be crossing the Pacific and visiting its many islands, including Easter Island and Tahiti, which will gradually lead to Oceania. Passengers will then visit Australia's largest cities - Sydney, Perth and Melbourne - before heading back up to Asia. There, they will have the opportunity to walk the streets of Bali in Indonesia, Phuket in Thailand and Bombay in India. Singapore and Sri Lanka will also be part of the stopovers, before heading back to the Middle East, whose sublime landscapes will delight budding sailors who will stop in Oman, Jordan or even Egypt. The arrival in Europe will be the last part of this incredible world tour:Lisbon, Porto, Rome, Barcelona are on the program, in addition to the British Isles and Scandinavia. Finally, passengers will say goodbye to the giant of the seas that has carried them safely through this whole adventure:a flight from Amsterdam will bring them back home to the United States on May 25, 2020. Such an epic has obviously a cost that few people can afford since the suites are offered at prices between 55,000 and 205,000 € per person depending on their degree of luxury. Needless to say that the Silver Whisper is equipped with a giant swimming pool, 4 restaurants, a spa, a casino and a fitness center, it could frustrate us even more… We are really jealous of these future passengers whose lives will be changed forever!
