A little night among the stars, what do you say? With cocktails, rooms with a retro-futuristic design by French designer Philippe Starck and free Wi-Fi! Yes, even in space you have to stay connected and share your photos of the galaxy on Instagram!
At a time when privileged people are constantly looking for the next experience that will satisfy them, space really remains the last frontier. A luxury few people can afford!
To satisfy their adventurous spirits, Axiom Space had an idea! The prospect of a trip of about ten days in a luxury hotel located in space.
The company hired Philippe Starck, a French designer, to outfit the interior of its hotel room cabins. A cozy atmosphere! The walls will be quilted, cream colored and covered in suede. Hundreds of tiny LED lights of different hues will glow depending on what time the space station is floating relative to earth.
"My vision was to create a comfortable, friendly egg, where the walls are soft, in harmony with movements in weightlessness. This dematerialization will be a first approach to infinity. The traveler should physically and mentally feel his floating action in the Universe" , confides Philippe Starck on his website.
The space station should open its doors in 2022, but curious travelers could already find themselves in orbit as early as 2020. But we shouldn't have too many illusions, everything related to space tends to fall behind!
And the cost then? It will be able to accommodate eight passengers, including of course a professional astronaut! An adventure reserved for the richest because it costs a whopping 55 million dollars, or 47 million euros, per seat.
And on top of all that, don't be claustrophobic!
