Exploring the most distant lands is the dream of a life that a lot of people share. Perhaps the only obstacle that can deter travel enthusiasts from exploring new continents is the travel time, which sometimes stretches over several days if you take into account the time spent on the plane and stopovers. Fortunately, transport companies are always exploring more new projects to guarantee maximum comfort to their users. Like the train line that could soon link London to Tokyo, a direct flight between the English capital (decidedly, it seems like a good plan to go into exile in London over the next few years!) and Sydney could see the day from 2022. The website Bloomberg indeed reports that the main Australian airline Qantas Airways Ltd is looking very seriously at the idea. Its CEO, Alan Joyce, has publicly asked aircraft manufacturers Boeing and Airbus to design a plane capable of the 20-hour non-stop flight. Still according to Bloomberg , it seems to be done.
The plane could carry about 300 passengers and their luggage and would contain enough fuel to deal with unforeseen events such as headwinds and emergencies (we are reassured!). The CEO also hinted that innovative spaces would be set up to kill time, such as a gym, bunks and babysitting. “We want to be where we are not expected. An additional space reserved for various activities such as exercise, a bar, a crèche, bunks, a rest room, what do you think? Boeing and Airbus have been very creative on this one. I think we will get there and the plane will be operational in 2022 “, explains Alan Joyce. We can't wait to see the result!
