Riding an elephant, posing with a tiger, swimming with dolphins… Traveling abroad can also be an opportunity to do activities involving animals that make you dream. Only (big) downside:these activities are most of the time done to the detriment of the well-being of the animal, something that we do not always know. To remedy this and still offer original activities to animal lovers, Airbnb has teamed up with the NGO World Animal Protection to find experiences all over the world, but which respect them.
In total, more than 1,000 activities are offered in 58 countries around the world, all respecting World Animal Protection guidelines (=no swimming with dolphins or riding an elephant, we prefer to say so from the start). For example, you can learn to paddle in Fort Lauderdale (United States) with an instructor and her faithful corgi, visit the sanctuary for (big) cats in Imlay (United States), become a manatee healer on the island of Porto Rico, meeting the dogs from the Chernobyl site (in Pripyat, Ukraine), spending a day in the shoes of an Italian rider in Rome (Italy), rescuing stray dogs from Split (Croatia)… As always, the experiences are classified by type of activity (observe, play, treat) or by geolocation. And there is something for every budget and every taste. We say a big congratulations!
