Spring is just around the corner and the motorcycle can almost be conjured up from the garage again. The wonderful sunny days are ideally suited for touring by motorbike. You can prepare yourself with these tips!
1. Safe on the road
The bike has probably been in the garage for a while. It is therefore also wise to check everything carefully. Check the tires and tire pressure, but also check the chain, brakes and suspension. Also don't forget to check other security matters. Maybe you need to re-insure your motorcycle, or it's time for a new suit or helmet. New round, new opportunities!
2. Prepare for long distances
Whether you want to tear through the Ardennes or just take a ride through the Netherlands; sometimes it's just useful to be able to cover long distances. Do you have long journeys planned? Then make your motorcycle as comfortable as possible for long-distance sitting. A nice saddle, for example, without too much preformation. Or maybe you can better inform yourself about renting a tour motorcycle. That is because it is slightly more comfortable for a long distance than that bright red sports motorcycle.
3. Choose the right suit The right suit is very important for comfortable riding. A suit that is too thick may protect you well, but can also be incredibly warm in the summer. Especially when the asphalt only reflects the heat. If you only have a thick winter suit left, look for a good summer suit. When purchasing, take into account the types of rides you will be making. Of course you have different needs for short trips than for long trips.
4. Start planning
It's always the same:if you have a weekend off to go touring, everyone seems to have something to do already. It works the same the other way around. So now start planning with different people to put cool motorcycle rides in the agenda. Also do some brainstorming about locations. Maybe you want to tour the Ardennes for a week with the whole family, or do you want to tour Paris for a weekend with a friend? The special rides often require some planning.
5. Get inspired Summer is not here yet and the rain can be a bit depressing. So do your research to plan fun rides! Friend Google is only too happy to help you.
