Lunchroom Waldeck is a small, but very cozy lunchroom in The Hague. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy the terrace. Is the weather disappointing or do you not feel like sitting outside? Don't worry, it's cozy inside and there is plenty of space to enjoy a delicious lunch with a larger group.
For the birthday of my husband's aunt, we were invited to enjoy a high tea at lunchroom Waldeck. Now I'm personally not a fan of sweets, so I wasn't expecting too much from them for myself. Fortunately, it was all not too bad and I was also able to enjoy savory snacks. The high tea naturally started with tea, coffee or soda. You don't necessarily have to choose tea for a high tea.
The first delicacies came on the table and they were only sweets. Think donuts with different glazes and different pieces of sheet cake. I saw apple and cherry plate cake. Afterwards, etagères with bonbons and strawberries dipped in chocolate were served. These were also in great demand among the table companions.
After this we were surprised with etagères full of savory delicacies. Finally I could also enjoy the high tea. The savory snacks consisted of sausages in puff pastry and mini balls that were richly filled with greenhouse, brie, ham, etc.
Drinks were regularly replenished between all snacks. For most people that was tea, only coffee and the kids had some soft drinks. All in all, they were delicious snacks (especially if you like sweets).
A look at the plates of the other guests (yes, I know, that's not nice 😉 taught me that you can also eat delicious there. That is also what my husband's aunt, who comes here for lunch more often, also told me. The portions are very large. and the prices are very reasonable (think of a burger for € 6.50 and a complete meal for around 10 euros).
The service is neat and keeps an eye on the guests, so that you don't lack anything.
