A while ago we stayed two nights in the NH hotel in The Hague. Is the NH hotel The Hague recommended or not? Read our experience after 2 nights in this hotel.
The NH hotels are part of an international chain of hotels that can be found in 30 countries. With rui 360 hotels, there is something for everyone. The hotels are suitable for the business traveler, couples, but also families. You can easily search the website by the number of guests or a specific theme, for example a family hotel or an environmentally friendly hotel.
If you stay in an NH hotel more often, you can join their reward program. This gives you points for every stay. You can then convert these points into a discount for your next stay. The discount is valid on stay, but also perks such as breakfast if this is not included in the price.
As mentioned, a few months ago we were in the NH hotel The Hague for 2 nights. We had not selected this hotel, but were assigned it. That's because we had booked a secret special through hotelspecialsnl. You do not know which hotel you will end up in, the only thing you can indicate is the city where you want to stay and when. So we were assigned the NH hotel The Hague. For 2 nights including breakfast we only lost € 130.00 for 2 people for this deal. A bargain, especially if you look at the regular prices.
The hotel room was on the 7th floor (not so handy if you're afraid of heights like me) with a beautiful view (as long as I didn't look down everything was fine). The beds were comfortable and the room looked neat. There is a very big downside to the hotel and I had already read that beforehand:the layout of the room and bathroom is quite different, so to speak.
You enter and on the left is the bathroom. There is no ordinary door or wall, but everything is made of frosted glass! If someone goes to the toilet and you just come in or have to be at the cloakroom, you see them sitting on the toilet! the bathroom itself is neat with bath, shower, toilet and sink. Nothing to worry about, only the wall on the side of the bath/shower is made of glass! That means you can look straight into the bedroom! Okay, it's not smooth glass, it's milk glass, but you basically see everything. If someone is in the shower, you can just see him or her from bed. That is of course less bad if you share a room with your partner, but if you share a room with your child or a colleague, it becomes difficult.
In addition, it is very inconvenient if someone has to go to the toilet at night. As soon as the light in the bathroom is switched on, the bedroom is also immediately lit. Not useful if you are a light sleeper and wake up to this sort of thing. This has clearly not been thought through. Or these rooms should only be rented to couples (doesn't solve the problem of the light, but good). Perhaps it would be more convenient to hang a curtain in front of the glass wall?
The breakfast, on the other hand, was very extensive with too many choices. Is that possible? Yes you can. You can put anything and everything on your plate:from bread, rolls, but also fruit, vegetables, eggs, various breakfast cereals, yogurt, cottage cheese and much more. The choice is really huge and if you are a big eater you will certainly enjoy yourself here.
The employees are friendly and nice, but unfortunately I also have to make a comment here:it is not nice to talk about hotel guests, while other guests are aware of this. Also laughing about certain situations in which hotel guests find themselves is not really good advertising for the hotel.
This is the first NH hotel we stayed at and the experience was a lot better than with the NH hotel in Waalwijk. As far as I know, the room was clean, the service good, the breakfast excellent and the value for money was great (keep in mind that we took advantage of a special deal). Unfortunately, the design of the room was disappointing and this was not well thought out. In addition, the staff should think a bit about their attitude. The NH hotel The Hague gets a 7.5 from me.
