So I went to the cinema at 10 a.m. on a weekday. Well, if at that time the film you want to see is playing and you can arrange a babysitter, why not? Popcorn and M&Ms are also allowed at this time;). The movie I went to see was Soof 2 and it's so much fun! But before I get ahead of things and keep rambling about this film, let me first tell you something about the film Soof for the ladies who haven't seen the first part yet.
Table of contents
This Dutch comedy film was released in 2013 and is about a family with three children. Dad, mom, their twin sons and an adolescent daughter. The relationship between the man and woman, Kasper and Soof (in full Sophie) has slipped into a rut to say the least. Soof is involved in her own catering company, which is not going very well.
She can't get used to modern styles and clings stubbornly to the old, familiar. Kasper is often absent for his work and as a result they live completely separate from each other (uhhhhhhmmmm, somewhat recognizable perhaps?). Ultimately, the marriage completely on the rocks when they both have some kind of affair with two celebrities. Who those two celebrities are and how it ends, I'll keep that to myself 😉 . In any case, I thought the film was a wonderful entertainment!
And now:Soof 2. I have to say that I'm always a bit skeptical about a second part. It's often a poor imitation of the first part, a kind of money-maker, and after a few minutes I'm already bored. When I read that there was a female stampede on the tickets for Soof 2 and a record number of tickets were sold for the Ladies Night, I was hooked. Apparently I had to see this one too 😉 .
And I have to admit, it was a nice movie and yes my prejudices about second parts were not fair this time. The film contains a high dose of humor and really takes you into the story. The story is of course about the family of Soof and Kasper, who are torn apart in the first minutes.
Kasper wants a divorce and this time for real. Soof doesn't know what to do with this and little by little starts to lose more and more control over her life. Her diner is no longer going well, her adolescent children are wonderfully obnoxious, co-parenting is hard for her and Kasper also has a new (young) girlfriend in no time. Enough reasons for hilarious moments à la Bridget Jones. Because if you can rightly compare them with anyone, it's with Bridgie 😉 . I'm not going to tell you how this all ends, because then the fun is over!

Soof is a wonderfully crazy woman who tries to find her way as a woman, but also as a mother when her world suddenly collapses. It gives a realistic, recognizable depiction of the life of a divorced woman in her 40s with adolescent children. A bit exaggerated here and there, of course!
The antics Soof pulls up -also in Soof 2 - and the charm she possesses make her a great Dutch Bridget Jones. Aren't you tacky yet? At the end of the film, comedic dance moves are shown by the entire cast to the song 'Don't Jod Me'. And yes in all honesty….I also tried these dance moves at home afterwards……
Have you seen Soof 2 yet? Let us know what you thought! Have you not seen Soof 2 yet? Then we have great news for you, because you can win tickets with us! YEAH! Our advice… take a look at Soof 1 before you sit down for Soof 2, because then it is even more fun!
We are allowed to pass on 2 Soof packages. What is in such a Soof package?
This way you too can become a bit of a Dutch Bridgie 😉 .
