What is the ideal holiday climate for the Dutch?

What does the Netherlands think is good holiday weather? Corendon wondered that, and guess what? The preferred temperature is between 26 and 30 degrees Celsius and on average seven out of ten Dutch holidaymakers find rain at their destination no problem. Of these, 46% disagree with the statement that two or more days of rainfall would ruin their vacation. The other 24% say rain doesn't bother them much. A total of 1236 respondents took part in the survey about their preferences when it comes to vacation and climate.

No less than 80% of the Flevolanders and 74% of the Utrechters do not see rain as a damper on their holiday. For example, just half (57%) of all Drenthe. Only 13% of all Dutch people stay inside their booked accommodation when it rains. They then say that they are going to relax, read or play games with their travel companions. Almost half (47%) do go out, but plan indoor activities such as in museums and shopping centers. An average of 40% of the respondents say they continue planned activities in the event of rain, but dress for the weather.

Nevertheless, 74% prefer to choose certainty when it comes to the climate at the holiday destination. This should not be too cool or rainy. The most chosen favorite holiday temperature is therefore between 26 and 30 degrees Celsius. Only 14% take into account a climate that is not too hot or stuffy and 12% does not really care, they adapt the activities to the climate of the destination they want to go to.

71% of holidaymakers know the weather at their holiday destination before they pack their suitcase. Half of them know what climate to expect and the other half still check the weather forecasts online. On average 19% pack enough to be prepared for other weather. One in ten expects to be able to buy something on location when the weather is disappointing on holiday.
