Amersfoort? Yes, Amersfoort. Reasonably centrally located in the Netherlands - so everyone can enjoy it - and plenty to do. A beautiful old city (750 years) with historic buildings and new architecture at the same time.
The city is easy to discover on foot. The main shopping street of Amersfoort center has all the well-known shops and many well-known names. You will of course find it 'almost' automatically. But if you want to use the city as a "local", then it is better - as in so many cities - to take a side street for the best discoveries. I'll give you some tips!
The Blueberry on the largest square in Amersfoort is a delicious breakfast and lunch shop in American style. With her North American background, the owner knows exactly what she's talking about and makes all the delicacies from scratch.
For a delicious American breakfast with pancakes, a snack (think of carrot cake and cheesecake) to the uber-American sloppy joe and pulled chicken. The Blueberry has it all. A wonderful way to start the day, to recover in between or to end the day!
The Blueberry can be found at Hof 21 in Amersfoort
Do you feel guilty about going out alone, without your kids? Don't do it! A good choice! This way you can structurally enjoy the offer. Samples of branded clothing and shoes are offered at great prices. From baby to size 176, you almost always pass without emptying your wallet when you leave the store.

In terms of architecture, the library Eemplein is highly recommended. Look what a beautiful building!
Several restaurants of famous names can be found on the square. If you don't want to eat in the usual restaurants, try Het Spui , just outside the city walls at Westsingel 48-49.
A restaurant with a nice sunny outdoor terrace where organic and regional products are used as much as possible. No standard satay or schnitzel, but delicious French cuisine with excellent service. Another nice fact; Het Spui has deliberately kept the portions slightly smaller, so that nothing is wasted in terms of food. The food is cooked with care and attention and you can taste it!
The spui can be found at Westsingel 48-49
No need for gray or black clothes? In The Empress at the Zuidsingel the colors are splashing from the racks. It's a lovely shop full of women's clothing, shoes and accessories. The enthusiasm of the owner ensures that you always leave the building satisfied! Are you in AMersfoort center? Then definitely step in here!
