Indispensable when you go on holiday; we must not forget this!

A while ago I wrote a blog about what is indispensable and mandatory in the car when we go out. Of course I also have something to say about what we all take with us when we go on holiday. Without turning this into a complete holiday checklist, there are a number of things that I would like to list that should not be missing on my holiday stuff list. From personal items to handy things that you don't want to forget when you go on vacation, but that I could just leave at home if I didn't keep a check list.

Table of Contents

Holiday stuff I always check off the list

Whether we're going on winter sports, a weekend away or summer vacation, the holiday items below should not be missing from the list. For us anyway. Perhaps there are other items on your list when you go on holiday, that is of course possible. The items below - which are indispensable to us - come from shops such as Bol.com, engelbert strauss, Greenjump and the local opticians.

Our softshell jackets

I find them indispensable. Whether we're going on the road with the DFDS, catching the plane to Tenerife, going on winter sports or heading into the summer holidays. Our handy softshell jackets are indispensable in my opinion. Found at engelbert strauss; nice for a short walk, a bit of inclement weather on the beach or during a rain shower. And if the weather is great for winter sports, I don't want to wear my thick ski jacket, but the softshell jacket is also excellent. A keeper on the holiday stuff list!

Hiking shoes on the list of holiday gear

One time we forgot them, and that was exactly the time we visited the Weissee glacier. It may have been summer, but Lotte had to wear slippers through the snow, which was not really handy! So these are always with you.

Sunscreen

Natural sunscreen is also a keeper and indispensable during winter sports and summer holidays. Even if we 'only' go away for a weekend, the sunscreen has to come with us. We don't burn that quickly, but good lubrication is of course always important!

Travel sickness inhibitors on holiday items list

Especially important for Lotte, but in some situations also for myself. During very long car rides through the mountains I sometimes get very sick, but also during boat trips my stomach can get quite upset. Until now we use Primatour for this, but this time Lotte is also testing the Seetroën glasses, do you already know them?

Level 8

A small game that we like to take with us on the road. Level 8 can be played if you have 15 minutes to spare in between, or as a full evening program and really belongs on our holiday stuff list. The kids think it's a super cool game, it takes up little space in your luggage (also handy for the plane). And even we really like this card game!

Pump bags for on the go

Of course, in case the travel sickness pills don't work, that also happens sometimes… puke bags should absolutely not be missing when we go on a trip. These are therefore standard behind the passenger seat and Lotte will not go on the road without checking whether there are still enough bags in it.

Extra bottles of lens solution

And no, these are not used for making slime, but just for traveling in the car or on the plane. Of course, we take enough with us anyway, but when I go to sleep on the way, I have very dry eyes when I wake up again. I almost blink my lenses if I'm not paying attention. So just drip with a small bottle of contact lens solution to be able to see properly again.

What holiday items are on your list?

Of course, the above is just a small selection of the things we have on our list for the holidays. All necessary documents and other things to stay somewhere should not be missing. But I can think of many other things… oh well… we'll buy that again on the way if we forget'. But I don't want to forget this list of holiday gear because I'm 100% sure we'll always use it, or because they're brands that we can't just get elsewhere. For example, I would not like to use a strange lens solution. The last item on our summer checklist is the Easybreath snorkel mask. You were so excited about that!

Do you also have something on your list that is really indispensable for you during the holiday or a weekend away?
