Last weekend we enjoyed Drenthe and the rural park Het Land van Bartje. The approach to fully taste everything Drenthe has to offer in a weekend was a great success and I would like to tell you more about it. But first of all, more about the beautiful Land of Bartje.
Table of Contents
We are all very surprised by the design of this Landal park. We have already seen more Landal parks, but this Drenthse park still really surprised us. I only really noticed the enormous amount of privacy that you have at this holiday park when we woke up the next morning. With a cup of coffee in hand, we look out over the Driving Range of the Landal Park, a panoramic view with quite a few golf balls scattered over the field in the evening.
Book directly or read more information at Landal
We will not arrive until late in the evening on the day of arrival. Fortunately, the keys are already in our possession and we can enter the site with a pass. Our car is showing problems, so I'm glad we made it to Landal Park and we don't have to stop before we get to our house 😉 .
The beds in our house are already nicely made, which I always find such a luxurious feeling! Much better than having to make all the beds yourself when you enter, especially if it is already later in the evening. We are also welcomed with a bottle of rosé, which is also delicious!
Since we are quite chilled by the walk in the woods and the Boomkroonpad that we walked with a volunteer from Staatsbosbeheer, Lotte immediately takes a bath and then settles down on the couch with us for an episode 'the Voice of Holland kids'.
The fact that Het Land van Bartje is located in the middle of nature is also clearly visible in the park. In addition to being detached, all accommodations in the park are surrounded by grass or trees. Or both. We are therefore located in the middle of the Hondsrug in Drenthe.
We can stay in a beautiful white cottage in farmhouse style with colorful shutters. A bit from the beginning of the park, but fine for us to walk. If you have very small children, I think a handcart is useful in itself. Or bicycles that you can rent at the Landal park, also great to view the area!
As we are used to from Landal, Het Land van Bartje is also a very clean Landal Park. The cottages are fully equipped, neatly cleaned and fully equipped. In addition, if desired, a delicious breakfast will be delivered to your door at Het land van Bartje so that you can wake up at your leisure in the morning.
From 2-person to 10-person cottages and from the mobile home type to a country house type or a bungalow. You will find it all here. Even beautiful houses with thatched roofs are surrounded by a large lawn where you can play football or badminton on 'your own ground'. Most of the houses are self-contained, but there are also a few fields with mobile homes. I personally think the latter is a real advantage if you have smaller children. They can meet up with the neighborhood children in the middle of the field and play together while you keep an eye on things from your own terrace.
Many! Boredom is not an option in this Landal park. If your kids don't know what to do anymore, they can always play these outdoor games. But I can't imagine it with all these possibilities at the holiday park.
Even though Landal may not be known for their water parks, the swimming pool in Het Land van Bartje is large enough to relax. In addition, there is a very nice slide and part of the pool can function as an open-air bath in the summer when it is very hot.
Unfortunately we did not use it ourselves. The weekend was already pretty full with activities in the vicinity of this holiday park and our car also broke down, so we had to have a recovery company come on Saturday afternoon. Fortunately, that did not spoil the fun and provided the photo above as a memory.
Throughout the park you will find the necessary playgrounds for the kids. At the swimming pool of Het Land van Bartje there is also a large playground with a huge bouncy castle where children can have fun when the weather permits. And on the fields I mentioned above you can also find small playgrounds, right in front of your mobile home!
Is the weather less nice? No worries. You can go to Bartjes farm when the weather is nice, but also when the weather is not so nice. Covered 😉 . Crossing on bicycles, in a large ball pit or just playing in an indoor sandbox, it's all possible. And for mom and dad an indoor terrace with a cup of coffee and a pastry, that's a great place to stay.
A hot item in our family is the Swieber Pony Ranch, named after the oldest pony of Het Land van Bartje.
You can ride a pony on this ranch of Het Land van Bartje (by reservation of course) all day long, but you can also pet the ponies, brush them and many children even help with taking the ponies to the meadow when the day is over.
One pony is even cuter than the other, and Lotte likes to hang out here. I took quite a few pictures of it, but I won't bore you with all the pony pictures that only make horse girls happy.
Not a big fan of riding a pony, but would you still like to explore the area in a fun way? Then Bartjes Deux Chevaux is an excellent idea for you!
This authentic horse tram from Het Land van Bartje is pulled by two strong French work horses. Besides the fact that it is very nice to see the area with Ugo &Ulyssee, the stories of the coachman make the experience complete. During this tour you will be fully informed about this environment in Drenthe, the dolmens, the white women, but also about how they got these horses and where you can get the best ice cream and local liqueur in the village!
Whether the picnic basket that we discovered in the covered wagon is a standard part of the trip, I don't know. But the coffee, lemonade and accompanying donuts and cake were delicious!
As I mentioned above, enthusiasts can practice their strokes on the Driving Range of Het land van Bartje. You don't need a golf proficiency certificate for this, so it's always nice to try it out.
In addition to all the fun I have already shown above, you can also enjoy wellness, hit a ball on the golf course and play tennis at this Landal park. There is also a mini golf course and you can still go inside behind the reception for some entertainment. Think, for example, of a football table and a pool table.
What I can definitely recommend is renting bicycles if you don't have them with you. We really enjoyed our bike ride through Borger (despite the bad weather) and the bikes can rightly be called good.
There are plenty of places to eat and drink in this Landal park. If you don't feel like staying in your house, you can eat well in this restaurant. We had lunch here with 'croquette sandwiches specially prepared for the bloggers', but in principle this restaurant is intended for dining.
Of course you can go to Bartjes farm for something delicious and a cup of coffee, as I already indicated, and when the weather is nice you can have a drink on the terrace in front of the restaurant. There is also a snack bar for a quick bite, but also for takeaway meals and a tasty pizza.
Here you can go for massages and facial treatments, but also for a manicure or chair shiatsu. What you want. Just relax and have time for yourself, that should also be possible during a wonderful week at this Landal park, isn't it?
Are you going to the Land of Bartje with a Baby? No problem of course. Even in our house there was a cot for when you have your baby with you. You don't have to drag it all along yourself. It also fits even bigger children 😉 .
In the swimming pool, the little ones have also been taken into account with a wonderful paddling pool and of course there is the Bollo Club for the little ones.
There are also special children's bungalows with, for example, a frog bathroom and a games table. No longer needed for us, but if you still have little ones, very cool of course.
Would you also like to explore Het Land van Bartje? You will of course find more information on their website. Below you will also find the address details of this Landal Park in Drenthe. I wish you a lot of fun when you book and of course a lot of anticipation 😉 .
