Sometimes it's just not possible to go on holiday abroad, or you just prefer to stay close to home. Nothing wrong with that! In the Netherlands there are also plenty of nice holiday destinations where both children and parents have a good time. And the weather? That works more often than not if you look closely 😉 . That is why I have made a top 10 of the nicest holiday parks in the Netherlands where you can no longer have a child with your child and where you can relax with the family. Do you have any additions for the best holiday parks in the Netherlands that are also very child-friendly? Please let us know!

In any case, a day at the Efteling is fun to do. What many people do not know is that you can also spend the night at the Efteling and not just in the hotel. In addition to the hotel, the amusement park also has two holiday parks. And these should of course not be missing from the nicest holiday parks in the Netherlands. One of these is Efteling Bosrijk, which is located in the middle of the forest. The nice thing about this holiday park is that the animation team bring the fairytale characters to life and the children are also entertained as soon as you leave the amusement park. For example, Klaas Veel tells a bedtime story every night. An additional advantage:you can enter the Efteling half an hour earlier when you stay in the holiday park 😉 . How nice is that in busy times!
Efteling's second holiday park is Efteling Loonsche Land Holiday Park. A first for you… this holiday park has only been open for a few days! Here you will find holiday homes in, for example, the dunes and themed rooms that are detached in nature. Please note… this holiday park is a 15-minute walk from the Efteling itself. Good to do, but also nice to know.
You can book a holiday in the Efteling directly here.
Perhaps a bit obvious, but the holiday parks in the Netherlands of Center Parcs are also great fun to visit with the family. Firstly, Center Parcs is of course known for the swimming paradise that they have at each park, but they also have an extensive entertainment program. Orry and his friends are the regular characters you will meet in Center Parcs and they organize a children's disco and read to them, among other things.
We recently paid a visit to Vakantiepark Dierenbos ourselves, which is why it should not be missing from this list of the best holiday parks in the Netherlands. Especially if the children are fond of animals, you are in the right place here, because there are all kinds of small animal parks. We slept in a house with an infrared sauna and hot tub, but you can also sleep in a real tree house here! In addition, you will receive an attraction pass that gives you free access to several day attractions. So great to spend a whole holiday. Read our review for a more extensive story.
Well, what can I say… An amusement park is just great for the kids! With a stay in the holiday park of Slagharen you are within walking distance of the amusement park, which you also get free access to. In addition, there is a very large water park where the children can have a great time and you should see how much fun you can spend the night here!
Sleeping with the farmer. Not the first thing that comes to mind when you think of vacation. Nevertheless, it is recommended! FarmCamps has several holiday parks in the Netherlands that are run by farmers. Upon arrival, children receive a so-called Farmer's Passport containing assignments that they can complete during the holiday. When all assignments are completed, they will receive a Farmer Servant Diploma at the end! Not quite convinced yet? Read my FarmCamps review!
Here too you have the feeling of being on the farm, because all the holiday homes are made in farm style. But what is especially nice about Buitenhof De Leistert is the handyman's house. Here the children can be very creative! For example, there is not only cutting and pasting, but also hammering and sawing. Ideal for little Bob the Builders!
The animation team with children's friend Koos Rabbit is such a success at Roompot that they have a special Koos Fanweekend at holiday park Weerterbergen for it. This weekend is all about the children, with Koos taking them in tow. For example, Koos has breakfast with the children, there are dances with Koos and Koos tells nice stories. When you get home you almost wonder why you didn't secretly take Koos home. So it is right to include it in our list of the best holiday parks in the Netherlands.
As they say themselves:experience Africa dangerously close! In addition to going on safari in the park and seeing all kinds of exciting animals up close, Beekse Bergen also has a holiday park. We have been here for years with the caravan during the Ascension, but they also have accommodations. With various safari tents and 'Jungalows' (bungalows with an animal print) they know how to give Brabant a tropical touch. And as icing on the cake, we also have an incredibly large play paradise that you get free access to when you stay at the holiday park.
Furthermore, they recently opened a real Safari Resort on the Beekse Bergen where you can spend the night among the wild animals!
This one is especially for parents with teenagers! Everything today's teenagers need to have fun can be found at Hof van Saksen. There is a special Hang-Out with super fast WiFi and charging stations for their mobile phones. Perfect! In addition, there are workshops that even they find cool to do, such as diving with underwater scooters. Enough time for you to enjoy a well-deserved wellness day 😉 . By the way, parents with younger children can also go to Hof van Saksen, check out this review by Juf Maike!
’That will cheer you up!’ It cannot be missed in these top ten most child-friendly holiday parks in the Netherlands; Dune riot! The amusement park, the Tiki pool, nice houses and the beach are close by. Just lovely to go with kids. You are right to get a boost from it. Don't forget to also take a look at our King's house when you stay here, we had a nice chat with a guard at the gate 😉 .
