It took me a while to understand exactly how it works with Glamping Nunspeet, but I've now figured it out. It works well! Even though it works a little differently than you might expect, Glamping Nunspeet has the dots on the ï. I'll tell you more about our stay in one of the safari tents in the woods on the Veluwe.

A weekend of glamping in the Veluwe, who wouldn't want that? At our house, fingers flew into the air when I proposed to leave for the Veluwe immediately after Lotte's birthday - last Friday. And even more fun? The dog was allowed too! That doesn't happen very often, that our four-legged friend also goes on holiday. So a big party.

Missing Lotte's birthday is of course not an option. My girl turned 9 and treated her to fantastic panda cupcakes at school, but of course also wants to have a party at home for friends and family.
Since we want to fully enjoy our weekend Glamping Nunspeet, we decide to leave late Friday evening after the party. And that means setting an end time to the party. The stuff is already waiting in the car and all we have to do is jump in.
At 10 pm we arrive in Nunspeet at camping de Scheepsbel. We immediately feel welcome with those cozy lights at the reception and a manager who comes especially for us to bring the pass to the barrier and the toilet building and personally explains how we arrive at the tiger safari tent. At Camping de Scheepsbel there are three safari tents from Glamping Nunspeet. The Tiger (which we were in), the Zebra and the Leopard. All three 6 person tents. Fully furnished safari tents where you are fully equipped. Ideal, because the children always experience sleeping in the tent as a great adventure, but we do like a little comfort and luxury. And there it is.
From comfortable beds (a must for glamping in my opinion) to a flat screen TV with DVD player and from a heater to a complete kitchen inventory with cheese slicer and corkscrew. I will of course mention these separately because I have already misinterpreted them during various holidays.
Safaritent de Tijger is fully furnished in style (the Zebra and the Leopard too) and that gives the whole a very cozy look. When we arrive in the evening, we are pleasantly surprised because this cosiness is further emphasized by the lighting as you can see in the photo above. Undoubtedly the 'touch' of owner Rosalie Verhoef of Glamping Nunspeet.
The 'doors' of the tent have been opened, cozy lights are burning on the outside table, but there is also lighting on the inside. She knew we wouldn't be arriving until the evening and did her utmost to make the safari tent look cosy. Mission accomplished Rosalie!
In addition to the lights that are on, we are also surprised with a personal welcome. It's the little things that do it for him. The text on the 'balloon' makes us feel right at home, and a small gift has even been thought of for Lotte, so sweet!
We drink another glass to relax after the party and I enjoy the peace and quiet and the dog who is also having a great time. But how could that be otherwise, join us and also get some personal attention for him in the form of a present doggy bag!
Then we dive into our bed. Tomorrow we can start immediately with our glamping experience.

Besides the fact that it is very pleasant to take the dog with you, there is a very small disadvantage. There is no real sleeping in 😉 . The big advantage is that you can walk straight from your Safari tent into the adjacent forest with even Zandverstuiving De Haere behind the campsite.
Despite the fact that it is still wonderfully quiet at camping de Scheepsbel, I wake up early. Ca$h is already wandering around and is exploring his new living environment extensively. I decide to go out to let him out. The weather is lovely and a walk so early in the morning is very nice. Slowly I see the campsite 'awakening'.
After exploring the campsite with the dog, I go get some sandwiches at the reception, the rest is still on one ear. By the way, you can bring your dog in at the reception, I noticed later. Ideal, such a dog-friendly campsite. Fits in perfectly with the environment, because who wouldn't want to take their dog for a walk in the Veluwe? In addition, the owners of Glamping Nunspeet are also dog lovers, I read on their website, so one and one is two in this case.
Even though Glamping Nunspeet and camping de Scheepsbel do not belong to the same owner, the experience of staying in one of the safari tents is also partly determined by the campsite, isn't it?
Just to clarify:Glamping Nunspeet has 3 safari tents at this campsite and a number of accommodations at another campsite, called the Witte Wieven.
Now I don't know the Witte Wieven, but camping de Scheepsbel has certainly proved its charm to us. I do not believe that there are two identical accommodations on this campsite. There are many mobile homes that I think are private property, and they are really all different. Because there is so much difference, all owners organize their 'things' in their own way and there are also all fenced gardens, this campsite feels very cozy. Cozy almost.
Ideally, our safari tent is also fenced. Nice if you are with small children, but also handy if you take your dog with you. They can just run loose at your own tent.
The swimming pool at the campsite is not really that big, but big enough. It is not a campsite with a swimming paradise, but there are 2 swimming pools, a large water slide (check the photo of Luc and Ca$h) and a separate toddler pool with play equipment. We had fantastic weather so after breakfast I had to believe it right away and went into the pool with the kids. Cool when you dip a toe in it, but as soon as you're done with it, it's wonderfully warm. A nice ball and then dry again in the sun. There is plenty of room for that at the pool, but since the Tijger from Glamping Nunspeet is located by the pool, you will probably understand that I just grab my 'own' sun lounger.
There are several small playgrounds and one larger one. This is located a stone's throw from our safari tent, next to the swimming pool and 'so' also next to the restaurant. Then you can sit on the terrace while the kids are having fun.
There is a restaurant near the pool where you can eat apparently delicious. We were also planning to, because I like a snack that I don't have to prepare myself. But our schedule was different, so unfortunately we didn't try restaurant de Serre. Do we have to go back again, haha. Besides the restaurant, there is also a snack bar if you want to do it easy.
The camping shop is located at the reception. A small camping shop where you can only get a few essentials such as the sandwiches in the morning (a must on holiday I think), a bottle of drink or your package of butter / chocolate sprinkles. If you want to do more shopping, you will have to go to Nunspeet.
The campsite also has a petting zoo near the reception with a deer, goats and so on. There's even a pony you can hire to cuddle and walk around with. You can even take it with you to your tent.
If the weather is not so nice, the kids can enjoy themselves in the indoor playground. Ideal, but secretly I'm glad we didn't need it.
What you have to take into account at Glamping Nunspeet is that there is no toilet or shower in the safari tents. You just use the toilets of camping Die Scheepsbel, which are very clean by the way. The shower building is also heated, so it's a great place to stay, even at cooler times.
I would like to make a small comment about the location of this campsite. It's pretty close to the highway. We haven't had any problems with that ourselves, but you can hear it. Are you going for complete rest? Then this campsite may not be suitable for you.
Rather camping on the Veluwe in your own tent? That is of course also possible.
Many, many! Since we were only there for a weekend and the children don't want to be out all day either, we had to make choices, but oh my, how beautiful this area is.
We went to explore Elburg at the end of the afternoon on Saturday, which is about 8 kilometers from Nunspeet. Of course with a dog. A pleasant walk around the old city fortress, eat an ice cream and enjoy all the noise in this town.
Coincidentally, there was music everywhere, a small festival. Now we are not averse to a festival as you undoubtedly know (read more about the Mandala festival, or the Fields of Joy festival where we have been), so we had a great time.
Of course we still enjoyed the harbor of Elburg, watched some nice boats and sat on the terrace for a while. Didn't get any fish at the harbor this time, which we did on a previous visit to Elburg 8 years ago and which my hubby still talks about. So we would like to go back to Elburg for that too. This town is really worth a visit.
Had it not been thirty degrees and we hadn't had the children with us, we might have tried to walk around the Veluwemeer. This time we just walked along the Veluwemeer, which was nice too! The beaches on the Veluwemeer are fully used in this weather and for € 5 you can park there for a whole day. So doable.
Unfortunately, after these two activities, our weekend was already full again, because there had to be time left to relax by the tent and have some family time with the family.
But if you take the trouble to take a look at the reception of this campsite, you will see that there is really a lot to do in Nunspeet and the surrounding area. Apeldoorn is also a stone's throw away, so the apenheul or the climbing forest are also highly recommended if you are staying here for a longer period of time. And how about Paleis het Loo, Kampen or the dolphinarium in Harderwijk?
