Europe Park Germany. Joyce asked me which of us would be interested in a press trip to this park. To be honest, I'm not much of an amusement park fan. But I was up for a trip with my family to Europapark Germany. So last week we left for Europapark Germany to experience Germany's largest amusement park.
What I mainly wondered before we left was whether this amusement park is also suitable for my 4-year-old toddler Laura. Europapark Germany is mainly known for the large amount of roller coasters and spectacular attractions. I don't think it is quite suitable for young children. But I was wrong.

Europapark is located in South Germany, in Rust and – believe it or not – is still a family business despite being the largest amusement park in Europe.
We put it to the test and immediately upon entering we ended up in a real toddler's paradise. The theme area Ireland is completely aimed at toddlers and preschoolers and Laura really loved this. Boats, a ship, tractors and a playground. Laura couldn't resist. During the weekend we found out that there is actually a lot to do in Europapark Germany for young children. In addition to the Irland theme area, there is a fairytale forest, various children's shows for young children and the Netherlands theme area is also very attractive for toddlers and preschoolers. Enough outings with children for the little ones.
Tip:Take your stroller with smaller children, such as the Easywalker Harvey, otherwise it will be a tough day 😉
Europapark Germany is divided into 15 different themes † All these themes are focused on a country in Europe. This is surprisingly well worked out. Every country has its own atmosphere which is really recognizable. Not only does the interior reflect the atmosphere of the country, you will also recognize the theme in the restaurants, sanitary facilities and music. The park itself is large and has a total of more than 100 attractions † Luckily we had nice weather and all the flowers were in bloom. A wonderful time to walk through Europapark Germany or take a ride on the old-fashioned steam train.
What I find very suitable for the park is for families with children of various ages, from young to old. If you have a teenager or adolescent at home who likes a kick, then Europapark Germany is the right place for you. How about 13 roller coasters and whitewater rides? This amusement park has no less than 8.3 kilometers of roller coasters. There is also plenty to do for the little ones, so a nice amusement park for all ages. Laura is still too young for the big attractions, for most roller coasters your child must be 1.20 or 1.40 cm tall. What I personally really liked was that Laura could and dared to participate in the simpler back track, the Pegasus. She thought it was super exciting, but she just did it that tough girl. Also a new experience for her:“I want to do it again!”
Tip:The 3-day mini cruise with the DFDS is also very nice for a weekend away, or a visit to one of these other amusement parks in Germany.
There are different ways in which you can spend the night in the Europapark in Germany, and believe me… an overnight stay is worth it. You don't just drive up and down for a day to this park, which is more than 600 kilometers away from Utrecht.
During our stay we slept in a log cabin at the Camp Resort. Laura thought this was the most fun:sleeping together in a log cabin upstairs in the bunk bed. “I want to sleep upstairs!” it sounded as soon as we entered.
The campsite is completely furnished in Western style with the cowboy and Indian theme. It looks very cozy in the evening with campfires everywhere. Before going to sleep we enjoyed a nice German beer with a view over the attractively lit lake. You can spend the night at the Camp Resort in a log cabin, but also in a tipi tent or covered wagon.
The log cabins are fine for 1 or 2 nights. You only need to bring a duvet or sleeping bag, pillows and pillowcases are available. Please note that the log cabins are basic furnished with beds and lockers. There is electricity and heating. It is certainly not cold at night. The disadvantage is that the log cabins are very noisy. You can also pitch your tent or caravan at the campsite. The sanitary facilities are good and tidy. You can have breakfast in the restaurant the Silver Lake Saloon. If you want a little more luxury, you can opt for an overnight stay in one of the 5 hotels.
The 5 hotels in which you can stay when you go to Europapark, they all have 4 stars and each has its own theme and style.
As mentioned, Europapark Germany is a long drive from the Netherlands. You should actually allow 1 travel day for it. If you drive through everything in one piece, it will take you 6 hours. So keep this in mind before you leave. The park is located in the Black Forest, in the country triangle of Germany, France and Switzerland. It is an ideal stopover if you are on your way to your holiday destination in the South of France or Italy or if you are going on a winter sports holiday in Switzerland. It is also very nice for a weekend away with teenagers or adolescents.
We will definitely go back again, but only in a few years when our daughter has become a teenager. For the time being, we are looking for fun again a little closer to home.
This article was drawn up as a result of a press trip that Rosa was allowed to make with her family. As you are used to from us, we always give our honest opinion.
