A little surprised I look around when we are in the parking lot at the Linnaeushof playground. The GPS sent us this way, we saw a sign, but now? While I am still scanning the area, Ro and the children are already walking towards the public road:we have to cross the road. The path leading us in that direction is lined on both sides by trees. I enjoy the beautiful walk while the children run happily along the path, towards Linnaeushof.

New this year is the enigmatic maze, a maze that is over 150 square meters in size. The surface of the maze is made of sand. For the safety of young children, high hedges or walls were not chosen (in fact), but low edges that mark the route. The smallest children can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the maze, for older children there are assignments along the route such as riddles, puzzles and sums that they can solve alone or with their parents / supervisors. An original addition to Linnaeushof that fits in with the other surprising and safe attractions and playground equipment.
The Linnaeushof will open its doors again from March 28. The largest playground in Europe, as they call themselves. The Linnaeushof playground consists of a number of different 'parts':
In the above parts of this fantastic playground you will find ziplines, a trampoline and air cushion centre, pedal boats, karts, funny wheels, rocking bikes, mini golf courses and a super slide. Spectacular are also the eleven meter high Piratennest, the nine meter high Toffe Toren, the Pioneer Village, the Traffic Village, the Sand Factory and of course the water oasis that is very popular in good weather. The rope bridge above alone is a winner, isn't it?
Upon entering you immediately see a large pond on which you can pedal. There are high slides, different types of swings and even a tightrope to practice tightrope walking. Everywhere you look you see playground equipment. Further on, to the left of the restaurant, there is a large playground especially suitable for children aged 0-6 years. With our two little ones aged 1 and 2 the perfect place to sit down. The eldest prefers to go on an adventure herself, so we agree that she will return to toddler land every now and then.
It's just 11:30, so still quite early. The sun is shining brightly and we have the kingdom to ourselves in Linnaeushof, what a luxury! The youngest of 1 walks determinedly down a small slide, while her slightly older sister sits down in the play car. We sit on a bench and watch with a smile. The playground is built in such a way that you don't really have to help much.
There is a sandbox, they can walk over a kind of bridge and sit in a house. All devices here are specially made for small children. Grass and otherwise rubber tiles are everywhere for protection. Moreover, it is very well-arranged, with one look you can see the entire toddler playground.
As soon as the train starts moving, our toddler turns around with a jerk. Of course she wants that too! Not much later she is waving next to her father with a beaming face. And again, because it's so much fun. Then she immediately wants to see more of the playground and they walk around together. She jumps on trampolines, goes cycling, swings, on the merry-go-round and in the big sandbox. Meanwhile, our teenager walks in with a smile from ear to ear. She has climbed, slid and sat on a swing. "This is a really nice playground, mom! I would like to see many more in the Netherlands.”
We notice how clean the park is. Some trash cans are even made at child height. We are sorry that we did not mind in the water park beforehand, with this summer weather we would have liked to take a dip. Luckily there is so much to do that our ladies don't even notice. At half past one it was enough. We decide to share another pizza with the five of us and not much later head for the exit. We drive home with three happy children, the youngest quickly sunk into a deep sleep.
The Linnaeushof playground is definitely recommended for children of primary school age. We didn't even see part of the park today (for example you can also play inside and of course with water). We will do this more often! Are you looking for other outings with children? Check this blog.
