At the end of October, for the first time in a long time, a night away in the Netherlands is planned with my love. The last time we went out was over a year ago to the Fontana Resort in Bad Nieuweschans. At the time I wrote that we try to do this twice a year, but that was not possible last year due to various circumstances. We have had a very hectic and emotional year and I feel a strong need to go out for a night together again.
Let me first say, I love my children dearly. But sometimes I really need to recharge. No ge-mama on my mind for a while, but really just time for each other. We have also been saying for years that we need to go away for a few days together, for example make a nice city trip or a holiday in the sun in March, but somehow I can't manage that.
When the children were smaller I found it easier to go away for a few days (midweek) than it is now. It feels as if it now bothers them more, because not only can they stay at home at night, but they also don't like staying with grandma for another week. Anyways, hence the choice to just go away for one night within the Netherlands. And this time not towards the country of Bartje, for example, but really something for us together 😉 . This time we are going to the Veluwe, but there are countless nice places that I would still like to discover together within the Netherlands!
Sometimes we choose to go with our own car, but we have had a period where our own car always had problems and then it is easy to use a rental car to go for example. Do you still come to places where no train or bus runs?
I won't go into too much detail on this 😉 , but what we like to do when we go away for a night is explore the Netherlands, relax and catch up. I am thinking of:

Not only very handy, but also good for the environment (and your wallet) not to have a car in front of the door as standard, but only to rent one if you really need it.
