This is why a Boerenbed holiday is and remains in demand!

There are many people who are still looking for a holiday in the Netherlands this year and are not traveling abroad because there are so few certainties at this time. Logical. A farm holiday is an extremely good idea if you want to have your children all to yourself during the holidays. A Farmer's Bed holiday is back to basic without screens. It is enjoying nature, enjoying the environment and enjoying each other. And that is always possible! Farm holidays are therefore not easy this spring and they will undoubtedly be popular in the summer as well. The need to get away from it all, and with this literally away from digital existence, is also a logical need after the recent period. A holiday stay at Farmer's Bed is just as simpler life.

Easier life during a country-bed-vacation

A holiday with the farmer, such as a Farmer's Bed holiday, is currently very popular again. Not only with families with children for whom these are the best holidays ever, but also young couples and the elderly are currently opting for a 'back to nature' holiday. Have you ever had a holiday on a Boerenbed farm? We have now had a number of Boerenbed holidays and the children (and ourselves) really thought it was fantastic.

Here you can read our reviews (from ourselves and our bloggers who have also been to a Boerenbed farm):

  • Farmer's bed Echterenerbrug holiday
  • Holiday on Farmer's Bed Kallenkote
  • Farmer's bed holiday at Hoeve water board Friesland
  • Farm Het Wesselink

At the locations at the farmer, you really start living a simpler life. That means cooking on a wood stove, which is also your heating, sleeping in a box bed and with oil lamps for lighting. Because you don't have electricity. It's a real breath of fresh air. Although it can be really cold during the colder months, you have to realize that. But it is a pleasure to relax in this way and to be more in nature, to get acquainted with farm life and to have time for each other.

The wood-burning stove becomes your best friend

At Boerenbed you are busy all day long with simple things, with each other and life on the farm. The wood-burning stove becomes your best friend, making coffee is an adventure and it's fun too! You leave the hustle and bustle for what it is and you can completely relax despite your physical effort. You have more contact with your children again (when they are not helping the farmer of course) and the mental pressure decreases. Switching back to a lower gear and enjoying a holiday in a completely different environment is excellent in one of the Boerenbed farms.

Cuddling with cows – dredging through the mud

Ask a city kid where the milk comes from, and often the answer is "from a carton." A holiday at Boerenbed is not only fun, but also educational and sustainable. The farmer likes to take his little and big guests along to feed the animals, cuddle with cows or go for a ride on the tractor. Put on your boots and enjoy dredging through the mud. We have plenty of examples of this during our own holidays on the farm.

Boerenbed.nl has 18 locations in the Netherlands, each with 5-10 tent houses for six people. Each tent has private sanitary facilities and is fully furnished. And all farms are working farms; this can be animal husbandry, agriculture or fruit growing. There are always small animals present.

Farmhousebed abroad

In addition to the fact that Boerenbed is fully represented in the Netherlands, there are about 45 destinations abroad, including in Great Britain, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and France. This year seven new locations will open, one of which is in the Netherlands.
