The Prix Versailles is an award that has been in existence for a short time:introduced in 2015, it rewards the most beautiful commercial architecture in the world. This prize is awarded annually at the headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. This year, the Chablé Resort &Spa hotel located in Chochola, Mexico, received the prestigious award. It is therefore the work of architects Jorge Borja and Paulina Moran that was rewarded. And we must admit that the place is sublime!
The hotel is located in the heart of a tropical forest in southern Mexico in the Yucatan region, a small corner of paradise bordered by the Caribbean Sea. This region of Mexico is known for these natural parks, which leave room for a rich diversity in terms of fauna and flora. The architects have mixed with this wild side, an ultra-contemporary architecture that just adapts to the landscape, through its shapes and colors. In addition, the design of the hotel recalls the Mayan culture, with the use of materials that has been made. The mix is simply exceptional… Enough to make us want to take a flight to Mexico as soon as possible!
