2018 will undoubtedly be the year of women. A few weeks ago, celebrities announced the color at the Golden Globes ceremony:black, worn by the guests, denounced violence against women following the Weinstein scandal. Later that evening, Oprah Winfrey delivered a feminist speech that resonated with many of us. And initiatives to honor women are just beginning. We learned in the fall of 2017 that Sweden would host its first festival exclusively for music lovers from August 31 to September 1, the main motivation being to create “a safe space” for participants. It is the turn of its Scandinavian neighbour, Finland, to act for the good of its inhabitants:the country has seen one of its islands renamed "SuperShe", in reference to the luxurious hotel complex which is currently being built there and which will only welcome women from June 2018. An island for us ladies alone, it can look like paradise, can't it?
The creator of the project, Kristina Roth, came up with the somewhat wacky idea after several stays in Calabasas, California. If these holidays allowed her to relax properly, the young woman found that the omnipresence of men partially ruined the positive vibes. “When a cute guy was around, women would get their lipstick back on. The goal [of SuperShe Island] is to encourage us to focus on ourselves and leave our hormones alone “, she explains to the New York Post . If the opening of the unusual place will not take place for a few months, those who are already interested in a visit are encouraged to subscribe to a “premium membership” in advance. This “all-inclusive” offer amounts to €3,250 for one week. And that's not all:each woman wishing to leave will have to complete an application procedure and have an interview via Skype with Kristina Roth herself before any validation of the registration. The stay will allow you to "pay particular attention to your health and well-being, to take stock of your life". After all why not ! Would you be tempted to set foot on SuperShe?
