In the heart of Calas de Mallorca, one of the oldest seaside resorts on the island of Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands, 70 km from Palma, the capital.
Located in the heart of the Globales Samoa hotel, the Lookéa Samoa club (3 parasols) offers a designer and elegant setting. Its 260 rooms – out of 331 in the establishment – are divided between the main building of 8 floors and family rooms (from 4 people) overlooking the garden. If the main facade of the hotel on the street side does not have much charm, we are quickly seduced by discovering the view from the swimming pool, between wooded hills and, in the distance, Sant Salvador, the highest peak of the Llevant.
You can tan around the vast central pool in 8, or on the small cove of Cala Domingos, just 300 m away along a beautiful tree-lined and shaded road. Fine sand and swimming in turquoise water without algae guaranteed! At the club, you can take advantage of the 100% French-speaking Lookéa entertainment throughout the day:muscle toning, aquagym, aperitif games, water polo, petanque, dance lessons... and of course themed evenings, led by a team of motivated and motivating facilitators. We also take advantage of Zen moments to laze on a deckchair in the gardens or do yoga postures in the grass.
A mix of Mediterranean and international cuisine in the main restaurant, with many local specialties (paella, fiducia, etc.) and a nice buffet of very fresh raw vegetables. At breakfast, it is impossible not to find what you are looking for between the healthy buffet, the assortments of cold cuts, cheeses and pastries, eggs cooked to order, pancakes, the wide choice of fresh fruit and dried fruit... The room is large enough so that you are not disturbed by your table neighbors, even in times of great affluence. If there is no outdoor restaurant, the snack bar which takes over when the main restaurant is closed allows you to have a late breakfast, a quick lunch (burger, pizza, fresh fruit, etc.) or a snack depending on the hour on a shaded terrace overlooking the swimming pool.
Solo, we rent a car directly at the hotel (from 35€/day with unlimited mileage). We drive north to the Cuevas del Drach, the "dragon caves" discovered in 1866. Underground lake, rock formations and classical music concert given by musicians sliding in boats... Magical! Then, we follow the coast to Cap de Formentor, the end of the world or almost, rich in jagged cliffs, pine forests and breathtaking panoramas. At the Formentor lighthouse, we admire the view of the neighboring island of Menorca, then we set sail for the village of Sineu, to discover the hinterland at the bend of a moor dotted with sheep. If you prefer organized excursions, no problem! The Lookéa Samoa club has the advantage of being ideally located on the east coast for easy access to the most beautiful sites on the island. The excursion not to be missed? The tour of the island with swimming in Torrent de Pareis, on one of the most beautiful coves in Majorca, mini cruise in a motor catamaran between Port Soller and Sa Calobra, arrival by old train with wooden wagons in the village of Soller, located in the mountainous foothills of the Sierra Tramuntana, where you can savor a juicy squeezed orange before heading to Palma, the capital, then the hotel. Perfect to see a maximum of them in a minimum of time!
