Are the exclusive hotels on the island too expensive for you? Then you can also find more affordable guesthouses and apartments in Barbados. These are simply furnished but clean and in good locations. A guesthouse is available from around €30 per day.
Food
Barbados is known for its excellent street food. Eating out on the street, out of the box, is the way to get to know the local food culture and meet locals. And these are not small dishes, but often complete three-course menus for around €10. But also in small eateries where you can enjoy delicious Bajan food for a low price.
Beach
Barbados has more than 60 beautiful beaches and all of them are open to everyone and free. You do have to pay for sunbeds and umbrellas, but lying comfortably on your beach towel is of course an alternative. The west coast is known for its white beaches and beautiful blue Caribbean Sea. The east coast is a bit rockier and rougher due to its location on the Atlantic Ocean. Swimming is not recommended here, but it is the place to be for surfing.
