There is only one place in the world where you have to be on St. Patrick's Day and that is Ireland. The St Patrick's Festival is truly one of the greatest spectacles in the world - a week of partying with music, dancing and outdoor shows culminating in the stunning St Patrick's Day parade through the historic streets of Dublin on 17 March. The Dublin St Patrick's Festival is legendary and the highlight of the year when the heart, soul and imagination of the city is in full swing. Everything is inspired by the 2016 theme 'Imagine If'.
Over four days of the festival, the 'I Love My City' culture program features a host of captivating, evocative and intimate cultural happenings staged in some of Dublin's finest, historic and prestigious halls and spaces. On Friday, March 18, it's time to put on the dancing shoes for the Festival Céilí, the country's largest open-air celebration of traditional Irish dance. Learn the steps, enjoy live traditional music and the atmosphere of the lively streets. Saturday 19th March is the Festival Treasure Hunt, a free, fun and new route through a collection of Dublin's historic buildings and sites - a great way to discover the city.
