Drievliet is a fairly small-scale amusement park in The Hague. The park has various attractions for young and old. There are several roller coasters, a Ferris wheel, bumper cars and various attractions for little ones. The attractions for the little ones are mainly at the beginning of the park, so there is a small separation between the attractions for older children. Of course there are also a number of attractions for the little ones and vice versa.
The amusement park is known as a family amusement park and whoever has been there will be able to confirm this wholeheartedly. The fact that the park is not too big makes it nice and clear. Many people in the vicinity of The Hague and the surrounding area therefore have a family subscription to be able to visit the park on a regular basis. In addition, many school trips to this park are also organised.
During the summer months, various shows are organized for the smaller visitors. The program differs every year and can be found on the website. As at many amusement parks, you can also have photos taken at Drievliet when you visit a certain attraction. The photo of our kids on the water trunk slide (no idea what the name is) was very successful, so they were each allowed to take a key ring with their photo.
In all honesty, I have to mention that these photos are on the pricey side, but you can choose from a normal photo, key ring, etc. Because our teenagers do not often (want to) be in the same photo, we saw our chance and still have a print made.
Just after the entrance you will find lockers where you can store unnecessary items. Ideal if you leave with bad weather and when you arrive on site you can store your rain gear. But of course you can also use it for a diaper bag and other necessities. Ideal:because then you don't have to lug it around all day.
As mentioned, we went to Drievliet on a beautiful day (in the summer) with our whole family. When I arrived there, my kids, although they are already teenagers, thoroughly enjoyed it. The bumper cars were especially popular. Daughter does not like haunted houses, that soon became clear after the first ride. The haunted house isn't scary at all, but if you don't like surprises in the dark and are easily startled, it can be very overwhelming.
Roller coasters are no longer necessary for me. Once this was a completely different story, but after I flew out of a swing during a school trip (I really don't remember anything about it, I only recovered a bit later) and got a fairly serious concussion, I'm my wild hair lost. But I digress, so I'm not going on a roller coaster, neither are my daughter and hubby, but it's different for my son.
My son tried out the more daring attractions and had a great time doing it. I was already dizzy watching it, so I regularly walked away. In between, the inner man had to be strengthened, since it all costs energy, so we treated ourselves to a dinner in the restaurant. The price was not too bad, the choice is reasonable and the food was tasty.
Recommended :To this I can say a resounding yes. Our children (teenagers!) have fully enjoyed and enjoyed themselves. They even wanted to go there more often and went back again with grandma &grandpa, uncle, aunt and nephew.
Because the park is small, it is very clear. There is a choice of different attractions and the smallest visitors have also been thought of. In warm weather there are water fountains, so double the fun and a nice way to cool off.
Negative :it's not really a minus, but if you plan to go more often, buy a subscription. We went unplanned 2-3 times in a row and that actually cost too much, but the kids couldn't get enough.
Value for money :entrance is quite expensive, but worth it. As said:if you plan a visit more often, simply purchase a subscription.
