Finally we tried it out! A while ago I wrote about the pop up tent Fresh and Black of the Decathlon. But that was the 'preliminary information'. Now I can tell you what I really think about using it, the Fresh and Black tent review. Because we took him to the Mandala festival a while ago.

For those who have not read the blog about the Decathlon pop up tent Fresh and Black, just a little bit of information beforehand. If you want to know even more about it, I'll refer you to the blog itself (click on the link), because I'm not going to give double info 😉 . In short:
Update:August 2020
You buy the Fresh and Black tent at the Decathlon for next to nothing!
And now the key question… is that the case? We did a test at the festival site in Wanroij with the entire family. For the newcomers… our family consists of 4 people. Two adults, 1 adolescent of almost 14 and a child of 9. And we test the 3-person pop-up tent Quechua of the Decathlon. The Fresh and Black tent.
Good. You get the idea… that's not going to be easy, with a family of 4 people in a 3-person tent. But we thought… well… it's only one night and also at a festival. It doesn't matter all that much. Right?
First of all, the teenage son shouted 'Yes mom, I'm really not going to sleep in a tent'. I know… I'm deeply ashamed… he turns out to be even more spoiled than I thought. When I explained to him in great detail that we were allowed to test the Fresh and Black tent, that he is 13 years old and actually has nothing to say, he calmed down a bit. Every now and then you have to be clear, I think 😉 .
In the end we decided that daughter would sleep in the tent with friends so that we could really test the 3-person Quechua tent with 3 people.
Setting up the tent is really easy, pushing the pegs into the ground takes the longest. Of course you only need them when the weather is bad, otherwise you can just ignore them when setting up your tent.
Tip:don't forget to this camping lamp take with you, because you really don't see anything in the tent!
As far as we are concerned, the conclusion is that the Fresh and Black tent is a very nice tent to use for short overnight stays. Or for a long holiday where you have it as a tent. In addition, he is very handy. Check the 'package' above.
As we wrote in our previous blog, there is no space to properly store your stuff, which is -if you only have this tent with you and nothing else- not really handy. A bag with clothes can still lie just at the back of your feet, but there is not more room. Observe tip 3 below… it will of course work much better!
What I would like to give you are the tips below, if you take this tent with you on holiday.
I can imagine you are somewhat skeptical about this. So was I. That is why we filmed it for you, which of course says a lot more than a story from me. Folding the Fresh and Black tent again does not disappoint. Although sometimes you have to make several attempts, or you have to be so experienced that you can dream it. For us (or actually… for Frank) this was the first time storing the Fresh and Black pop up tent!
As you can see in the video, things don't go well when folding the Fresh and Black tent. The second attempt goes a lot better. Now – a year later – we have used the tent a few times more. The tent itself is really still very good. However, folding the pop up tent is still a bit of a challenge every now and then, haha. We have to watch the video ourselves to see how it works again.
Do you use the Decathlon pop up tent more often? Then folding the Fresh and Black tent is a breeze. It really is about the skill that you must have. If it's a routine because you regularly go camping with this tent, I'm sure you'll have it folded in just a few minutes.
