Aged 24 to 27, Laurène, Louis, Charles and Tanguy returned to France by Tuk-Tuk. After crossing Laos, China, the Gobi Desert, the Silk Road and the Bosphorus aboard their tuk-tuk, they finally reached France 3 weeks ago after six months of adventures. But what is a tuk-tuk? Pronounced “Touk-touk”, this Thai means of transport is a motorized tricycle which generally serves as a taxi. Volunteers for "Children of the Mekong", this NGO helps educate children in 7 Asian countries (Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Philippines, Cambodia, Burma and China), hence the idea of the tuk-tuk conveys it most common in Southeast Asia. These four friends were therefore able to realize their dream:to travel around the world while helping the children of Asia. The choice of the name "Mekong Factors" is symbolic since their main objective was to find sponsors to finance the schooling of children in Asia. Thus, the four adventurers brought back in their tuk-tuk letters written by the children for their godfathers in France:“
Mekong Factors” takes on its full meaning!
