Where do we sleep?
At Mama Rio, in Rio.
Where exactly?
Right in the neighborhood of Santa Teresa, at the top of the city.
Why is it good?
First, for the breathtaking view of the sea and the bay of Rio. Then, for the charm of this bohemian district famous for its tramway and its still intact art deco buildings. Finally, for the pretty "tropicocool" decoration of this latest addition to the Mama Shelter chain.
What are we doing around?
We start by climbing Corcovado or Pain de Sucre, to see Rio from above, we tan in Copacabana or Ipanema, we shop in Lapa... Then, we set off in the footsteps of an "unusual and secret Rio", guide eponym in hand (Editions Jonglez, €17.90):we take the Chemin du Graffiti à Santa Tereza, a permanent exhibition of around 80 graffiti, we visit the Guahy building, one of the main art deco buildings in Rio, or the museum of the Itamaraty palace (on reservation), a forgotten little gem... In the evening, we join the Mama and take part in the festivities of the district:jazz at the Parque das Ruinas, samba and caïpirinha in the streets of Lapa...
We reserve! From BRL 349, or approximately €109 per night for two people on the Happy Mama offer including accommodation, breakfast, 1 Brazilian craft beer per stay (1L) and a late check-out at 4 p.m.
