After the columns of light in Canada and the white rainbow in Scotland, head to the United States for another breathtaking natural phenomenon. It is in Yosemite National Park, located in the Sierra Nevada mountains in California, that walkers have had the chance to observe the "Firefall", understand the "fall of fire". The Horsetail waterfall of its real name is a bit special:it flows only during the winter period until the beginning of spring and, once a year, its water takes on the appearance of... lava! And the show simply leaves you speechless.
The phenomenon, which lasts barely a few weeks in February, is caused by the setting sun:when it is perfectly aligned at the level of the Horsetail waterfall, it projects its red, orange and golden colors on it. It is this contact between light and water, with which the snow mingles, which gives this flamboyant hue from which we cannot take our eyes off. The Firefall only appears for a few minutes at sunset, and those who managed to capture this incredible moment are sharing it with others on the networks. And we thank them!
