We all know some, see all of the 7 wonders of the world, whether it is the Chinese wall, the site of Petra in Jordan, Christ the Redeemer in Brazil or Machu Pichu in Peru. But an eighth wonder could be added to the seven already recognized. Indeed, New Zealand researchers have found one of the most beautiful sites in the world which disappeared during a volcanic eruption in 1886. These are the pink and white terraces of Lake Rotomahana, which is located in the north of the New Zealand.
In the 19th century, the terraces of Lake Rotomahana were a very famous tourist destination. The site, of exceptional beauty, revealed long terraces of white and pink stones, which descended to the shore. There were two basins below, as well as pretty waterfalls. The local researchers explored the area in order to find this place and they succeeded. According to them, the terraces were covered by the eruption and are buried 10 to 15 meters below, but they are not destroyed. A request for funds has been launched in order to obtain further archaeological research. This would allow us to see if this fabulous place has been preserved for a century or if nothing remains of it. We can't wait to know the results of the expertise!
