White sandy beaches, a refreshing dip in the pool and a good portion of vitamin D for rain, work and daily reality is difficult for many Dutch holidaymakers. On average, more than half of the Dutch (56%) suffer from a post-holiday dip when they return home. This is apparent from research by travel organization Eliza was here.
Not only returning home, but also the winter many Dutch do not sit in the cold clothes. Almost half (47%) long to book a ticket to a sunny place in the cold winter months. Regardless of the season, the prospect of a holiday does many people good:3 in 4 (76%) Dutch people like to have a holiday planned to look forward to.
A holiday is not only something to look forward to, it also has an impact on the stress level of the Dutch. Almost a third of the Netherlands (31%) indicate that they experience stress in daily life, and women (37%) are more sensitive to stress than men (26%). Booking a holiday reduces this stress for more than a quarter of the Dutch (29%). This effect is even stronger on millennials (25-34):almost half (44%) are less stressed after booking a trip.
