In the middle of the forest, not far from the Legoland family park, lies the new adventure play park Wow Park Billund. With 28 hectares, the park is the largest of its kind in Denmark with 'outdoors' and 'nature' as the main ingredients. Wow Park Billund is home to more than 100 play activities, such as tree houses and suspension bridges up to 14 meters high, jumping nets with giant balls, underground caves, garlands and ziplines, which are carefully mounted around the trunks of the trees. Everything with respect for nature.
The brothers Jacob and Aage Hindhede founded the Wow Park. In Skjern is their first park that already attracts more than 35,000 annual visitors. “We are pleased with this unique forest concept, which differs from the other range of amusement and entertainment parks in the region. At Wow Park Skjern we developed the concept and gained a lot of experience that we could use in the park in Billund. Our dreams and ambitions are all reflected in this,” says Jacob Hindhede.
Memories of the farm's backyard from their childhood inspired the brothers to start Wow Park. The aim is to make contact with nature and to let young and adult toads play together in the forest. “We've seen countless times when people think they're too old to play, then suddenly burst out laughing out loud while playing. That is how it turned out in the park in Skjern and we expect this on an even larger scale in Billund,” explains Jacob Hindhede.
