Today, Wednesday, March 17, is St. Patrick's Day. The day Ireland and anyone who feels Irish honors and celebrates the patron saint of Ireland. This year, the St. Patrick's Day festivities are celebrated in a different way and the celebration is more than ever all about togetherness and connection. Everyone worldwide, dressed in green, can virtually participate in all festivities and events that are organized there.
St. Patrick is the national patron saint of Ireland. He is ubiquitous on the island of Ireland and churches, cathedrals and even mountains are named after him. Legend has it that he also drove all snakes out of Ireland! Today, his story resonates around the world, with millions marking his feast day as a celebration of Irish heritage and culture.

Everyone can celebrate St. Patrick's Day from home with a variety of virtual parties and live streams. Here is an overview of the options:
Ireland Tourism will host the St. Patrick's Day at Home Live Concert on March 17th
The 1.5-hour program will be one big, interactive feast of Irish music and dance. There will be live performances by special guests including the Celtic drummers and the Shamrock Tenors and viewers can participate in a number of surprising workshops by Guinness and Riverdance, among others. The virtual event will be streamed live from three of Ireland's most famous pubs and anyone can participate from home. Although we can't get together physically, we can still celebrate together. Global Greening Every year on March 17th, the world turns green for St. Patrick's Day. Hundreds of iconic landmarks and locations, from Brussels to Buenos Aires and from Sydney to San Francisco, glow green – the national color of Ireland. During the twelfth edition of Global Greening 2021, more than 400 buildings and locations in 56 countries worldwide will be illuminated in green.

Greenings 2021 in the Netherlands
For the second year in a row, the 10-meter high statue of the Kissing Couple XXXL in Amsterdam Westpoort lights up green. It is a special symbol of warmth and affection. The Gloriëtte in Meerssen is once again part of the Global Greening. They will be joined by two new locations, O'Casey's Pub in The Hague and the International Clog Museum in Eelde:

This year's mega-popular street party will take place online, allowing you to participate wherever you are in the world. The multi-day festival (from March 12-17) offers visitors more than 100 virtual events including:storytelling, poetry, music, but also culinary, dance and humor. St Patrick's Festival Drone Light Show 'Orchestra of Light'
As part of the St. Patrick's Festival, a spectacular light show will take place on March 17 with 500 drones flying over Dublin's Samuel Beckett Bridge. In moving formations, the drones will symbolize Irish culture – such as traditional music, dance and ancient Celtic art to wish the world a happy St. Patrick's Day.
