Besides Greek, I also love Italian food. This time we tried Pinoccio restaurant and pizzeria. Enjoy Italian food in the center of Arnhem. Is it worth the money or not?
Pincoccio can be found in the center of Arnhem. Located on the lively Korenmarkt, the restaurant can accommodate no fewer than 144 guests. When the weather is nice, you can also sit outside, creating even more space for guests. The restaurant not only has an authentic decor with thousands of Chianti bottles hanging from the ceiling. It is also the only old restaurant that has a traditional wood oven in which the pizzas are baked according to traditional methods. You can eat gluten-free here and the restaurant is also known as a child-friendly restaurant. Every Sunday children up to the age of 12 eat for free (conditions apply).
It's been a while since we made a reservation at Pinoccio. As always, we have used Social Deal to be able to eat cheaply. This time we were able to book a 3-course dinner for only 12.95 euros per person. A bargain, especially if you take a look at the extensive menu.
Upon entering you will immediately see the pizza baker. This makes the pizzas fresh, after which they go directly into the wood oven. The pizza chef was so nice to pose for me. As you can see it is really authentic work that is delivered here.
From there you can walk further into the restaurant. It is a very cosily decorated restaurant, where, despite the fact that there are many tables, you do not have the impression that it is busy. It is also great in terms of privacy. The restaurant looks very small, but it continues a long way to the back (where the toilets are also). The Chianti bottles on the ceiling immediately caught my attention. That also applied to the fireplace with Pinoccio dolls around it. Nice detail that the name of the restaurant is reflected in the interior.
There is a wide choice of starter, main and dessert. As an appetizer we got a basket with baguette and butter. We didn't have to pay anything extra for this. Then we opted for salad and fried mushrooms. Then followed a pizza and a lasagna. The lasagna was very filling. There was really a lot of meat sauce as well as a lot of cheese. Are you a meat and cheese lover? Then I can heartily recommend Pinoccio's lasagna. The dessert consisted of a large coupe of ice cream.
Sometimes the portions in a restaurant are disappointing. Especially if you use a Social Deal deal 😉 However, this was not the case here. On the contrary:the portions were very good and after the meal I didn't feel like I could add anything more. Even the portion of ice cream was very generous. Where in other restaurants you might be served two scoops of ice cream, here we got a generous coupe with ice cream and a generous dollop of whipped cream. I have no objection to that, because I really love ice cream.
The service was quick and tidy and we didn't have to wait long for the food. Despite the fact that it was quite busy in the restaurant. I also looked at other guests, but honestly only saw satisfied looks. It's hard to do otherwise, the restaurant has very good reviews on Social Deal and a big 9. Personally, I completely agree. I would even dare to give the restaurant a big 9.5.
In any case, we will come back here again. The entire entourage was just right:from the authentic restaurant to the delicious food and friendly service.
