Enjoy delicious food at Greek restaurant Alexandros Wageningen

As you know I like to go out for dinner every now and then. This time you can read all about our experiences with Greek restaurant Alexandros Wageningen. We were here on Christmas Day, so I didn't have to be in the kitchen.

Greek food, I love it

In case you haven't noticed, I love Greek food. I especially like tzatziki. I believe you can almost wake me up for this (okay, not quite, because I already sleep badly so my sleep is sacred to me hahaha). I have already visited many Greek restaurants, including Greek restaurant Anemos in Elst  and Greek restaurant Santorini in Waalwijk. The list will be added to, but I don't want to bore you with a review of a Greek restaurant every week.

Greek restaurant Alexandros Wageningen

In Wageningen you will find Greek restaurant Alexandros. An authentic Greek run restaurant. It is a not too big restaurant with a nice decor. Twice a month you can also enjoy live music from the 80s and 90s. For the exact dates you can take a look at the website. When no live music is played, they use a playlist and different music styles and genres are played. Here you can eat a la carte or opt for a three-course dinner. There is currently a promotion:you order 2 three-course dinners and pay only 1.

As mentioned, we chose to eat out on Christmas Day. Duration? Not at all, because I used Social Deal so we paid only 12.95 euros per 3-course dinner. Fortunately, the deal was also valid during the holidays and suited us well. I had wanted to try this restaurant for a long time, because it was promising.

We received an appetizer from the house with board and various tapenades and olives. Delicious, there were shrimps and I just love that. Then it was time for the appetizer. There was plenty of choice and it was stuffed vine leaves and tuna salad. When I eat at the Greek I almost always choose a mixed grill as a main course. I love meat and enjoy this the most. There is also plenty of choice for vegetarians.

At most restaurants you get a dame blanche for dessert as standard when you take advantage of their Social Deal offer. Not a big deal at all, because not only do I love Greek food, but I also love ice cream. And yes, I once got up in the middle of the night for that (pity, that my mother realized that I secretly went to get ice cream at 3:00 in the night hahaha).

All in all the food was very good and above all more than adequate. Sometimes the portions are disappointing and you're barely out of the restaurant and you're hungry again. That was not the case here. UPDATE:I had written here that the drinks were quite expensive. It turned out that we had been given baguettes in advance and that we had to pay extra for that. Drinking was just 2.50 euros per drink (we took water).

The service was very friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for the food. It all tasted equally good. Because it was Christmas Day, it was quite busy. We sat at the very front, exactly where the waiters had to go all the time. Precisely because the space is not too big, you are quite close to each other. Personally, I'm not a big fan of crowds and noise, so that was a bit less, but again very understandable.

Would I recommend the restaurant? Absolute. The food is a lot and tastes nice and fresh. The service is friendly and fast, so that's great.
