Are you planning a holiday and is your plane departing from Düsseldorf? Are you looking for a good hotel near the station? Hotel Central Düsseldorf is the perfect base for a holiday.
Hotel Central is a 3-star hotel that lives up to its name. The hotel is located a few hundred meters from the station. You can walk there without any problem. In addition, it is well located in Düsseldorf, so you can easily and quickly drive to Düsseldorf Airport by car. Are you coming to Düsseldorf for a city trip? Even then this hotel is very centrally located. The fashionable Königsallee is just 5 minutes away, where you will come across one luxury store after another. The old town, also known as 'longest Theke der Welt', is just a stone's throw from the hotel.
The hotel has various rooms, including 3-person and 4-person rooms. Ideal if you have older children or are even on the road with a group of friends and want to sleep all in one room. There is free WiFi in the rooms.
Because my daughter had planned a short trip to family in the south of Germany in October and the Flixbus would leave early in the morning, we decided to take a hotel the night before. Suppose the roads would be busy the next morning. Or you suddenly have bad luck, then her entire holiday would fall into the water. Besides, we didn't feel like any extra stress:she would have to be on the bus by 9am, so the morning just had to be fairly relaxed for her. The condition was that it would not be too expensive to stay overnight, easily accessible by car and near the station. In addition, breakfast should also be included in the price. In the end, the choice fell on Hotel Central in Düsseldorf.
The hotel does not have its own parking space. However, around the corner is a parking garage (Parkhaus Grupellostrasse), where you can park. The garage is open 24/7, so it doesn't matter what time you get there or leave. You pay per hour (2.00 euros) or per 24 hours (rate is 6.00 euros).
The hotel is fairly basic. Don't expect new rooms with the latest gadgets or a great view. Our room was very basic with three beds, a TV and a small desk. There was also a shower and a toilet in the 1970s style. The room was clean and that is important, especially because we have already experienced it differently. Our stay in NH hotel in Waalwijk was less fun with cookies under the bed and crumbs on the bed.
We had booked a stay with breakfast, so the next morning we could sit down in the simple dining room. As you can see in the photo below, it is a small dining room with tables that are fairly close together. You can also see the entire retro vibe from the 60s and 70s here.
Unfortunately there was someone in the dining room who found it necessary to have a loud (read speaker) conversation (no idea with whom, because it was Turkish or something). Fortunately, at a certain point he realized that it was quite disturbing and he continued his conversation elsewhere. In any case, the breakfast was delicious and my daughter was all set for her long bus ride.
Breakfast is also simple, but there was plenty of choice. Not only could you choose from different types of bread, there were also cereals. Of course there was also coffee, tea, water and juice. Ideal, because there is something for everyone to find.
We only stayed one night in the hotel and it more than met our expectations. As said, don't expect a state-of-the-art hotel, because it just isn't. Are you looking for a comfortable bed, clean rooms and a good breakfast? And especially a hotel that is centrally located because you have to have an early flight, for example? Then I can heartily recommend Hotel Central in Düssledorf. The hotel gets an 8. from us.
Hint :We just booked this hotel through booking.com while we were on the road. The hotel has a rating of 7.4 on Booking.com. We paid around 80 euros for a triple room for 1 night.
